Description

The invention relates to a protective helmet according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a protective helmet is known for example from GB-A-1 402 287. There, the gap is closed by means of two flaps, which are closed by a Velcro fastener, e.g. B. Velcro R material to be connected. There, the chin area should be covered to prevent cold air from entering.

Such protective helmets are mainly used by two-wheelers and in skiing.

The anatomical dimensions of the hatch opening of such helmets result in a gap between the front lower boundary edge of the helmet shell and the chin area of the user, which, due to the air flow conditions (turbulence), leads to disturbing noise, fogging of the lens and deterioration of the aerodynamic conditions.

It has already been proposed to avoid these disadvantages by means of a screen which is hingedly attached to the lower boundary of the helmet shell and which is fixed in the closed position after the helmet has been put on by means of push buttons or by means of a Velcro fastener.

These embodiments have the disadvantage that after the helmet has been put on, the diaphragm must be fixed by hand. In many cases, handling is made considerably more difficult by the gloves used by the user, and in particular, it is also difficult to loosen such panels in an emergency.

The invention has for its object to provide a protective helmet according to the preamble of claim 1 so that it can be put on and removed again without additional actuation of the diaphragm, at the same time an air exchange takes place over the chin area.

According to the invention this object is achieved by an embodiment according to the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

Further advantageous forms of training are described in the subclaims.

The design of the protective helmet according to the invention ensures that the gap between the lower edge of the helmet and the lower chin area of the user is covered automatically without additional handling when the helmet is put on and removed.

The inventive design of the diaphragm as a spoiler achieves an aerodynamically favorable deflection of the air flow and prevents undesirable turbulence in the helmet interior.

A further advantage according to the invention results from the air-permeable design of the screen. This results in an air exchange inside the helmet that is sufficient to prevent the lens from fogging up.

The interchangeability of the visor has the advantage that it can be adapted to the particular use of the helmet or the anatomical conditions of the user or, if necessary, exchanged for a visor with different air permeability.

Embodiments of a protective helmet designed according to the invention are shown in the accompanying drawings. • 11 is a perspective view of a lamella diaphragm.
  • 12 is a perspective view of a protective helmet of another embodiment,
  • 13 shows a partial view of the helmet shell limitation in the embodiment according to FIG. 12,
  • 14, 15 the panel and its fastening strip as a detail in an exploded view (FIG. 14) and as a unit which can be installed (FIG. 15),
  • 16 shows another embodiment of a panel with fastening strips in a perspective view,
  • 17, 18 a modified embodiment of the protective helmet according to FIG. 12 in perspective and partial view using the cover according to FIG. 16.
1, the protective helmet 1 consists of a helmet shell 2, which has an elastic poster 3 in the head area and a viewing pane 4 in the front area, which can either be inserted firmly or can be attached to the helmet shell 2 in a foldable manner. The helmet 1 is attached to the user's head by a chin strap 5. The helmet shell 2 has a slip opening 6 on the underside. Flow air 7 penetrates into the interior of the helmet 1 through the gap X and the resulting turbulence leads to disturbing noises for the user and fogging of the lens 4. In addition, the aerodynamic conditions are deteriorated by such turbulence.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the gap X is covered by an aperture 8 designed in the manner of a spoiler, which is attached to the un tere boundary 9 of the helmet shell 2 is attached, and which forms a tear-off edge 10 for the flow air 7 in its free end region. As a result, the flow air is bypassed without generating turbulence in the interior of the helmet 2.

The diaphragm 8 consists, as shown in FIGS. 3 to 6, of flexible material, e.g. B. leather, textile or plastic and is fixed in the front area and in the side area by means of webs 11 on the helmet shell 2.

In the area facing away from the front, the cover 8 is designed in the form of a bellows 12, the folds projecting beyond the plane of the cover 8 on both sides in accordance with FIG. 3 and only on one side in accordance with FIG. 4.

In den Fig. 5 und 6 ist die Blende 8 einmal in ihrer Normalstellung bei aufgestülptem Helm und zum anderen in der Auslenkstellung angezeigt, die beim Abnehmen des Helmes 1 erforderlich ist.5 and 6, the diaphragm 8 is shown once in its normal position when the helmet is put on and on the other hand in the deflected position which is required when the helmet 1 is removed.

Durch ein elastisches Band 14 wird die Blende 8 gemäß Fig. 5 in ihrer Normalstellung gehalten und eine Auslenkung gemäß der Darstellung in Fig. 6 ist möglich.5 is held in its normal position by an elastic band 14 and a deflection as shown in FIG. 6 is possible.

A corresponding deflection is ensured in the opposite direction when the helmet 1 is put on.

According to the representations in FIGS. 7 and 8, the cover 8 consists of a bristle set which, according to FIG. 7, is fastened in the cover strip 15 connected to the lower boundary 9 of the helmet shell 2.

In Fig. 8, the bristle set 8 is attached to a web 16 which is elastically supported on the bar 15. An embodiment of an aperture 8 corresponding to FIG. 8 is shown in perspective in FIG. 9.

Der freie Endbereich 17 ist lamellenartig ausgebildet, wobei zwischen den einzelnen Lamellen enge Luftspalte 18 vorgesehen sind.10 and 11, an aperture 8 is shown as a one-piece molded part which has a strip-shaped part 15 corresponding to the embodiments according to FIGS. 8 and 9. The free end region 17 is designed in the manner of a lamellae, narrow air gaps 18 being provided between the individual lamellae.

When a protective helmet designed according to the invention is put on and removed, the cover 8 deforms and automatically assumes the predetermined spoiler position after this process. Special handles for releasing the panel 8 are not required.

The embodiments of the diaphragm 8 according to FIGS. 7 to 11 enable an air exchange in the helmet interior which is sufficient to prevent fogging of the inside of the lens 4.

The basic features of the protective helmets shown in FIGS. 12 and 18 essentially correspond to the protective helmet according to FIG. 2. The same reference numbers are therefore used as in FIG. 2. Different in these alternative embodiments is the design of the screen 8. In both embodiments, an elastic fabric or knitted fabric 20 or 20 'is used as the screen, which is produced by weaving, crocheting or braiding and which in particular in the direction of the double arrow according to the Fig. 14 and 16 has rubber-elastic properties, for. B. is interspersed with rubber threads so that the fabric can evade when hatching and in normal condition the hatch opening in the front area is completely closed again. The meadow or knitted fabric 20, 20 'preferably contains a mixture of rubber-like threads and polyamide or polyester threads, or else it consists of cross-linked polyurethane.

In the embodiment according to Figures 12 to 15 is used to hold the substantially semicircular fabric 20 (Fig. 14) is also a substantially semicircular bent mounting strip 21, the z. B. is made by hot cutting and can consist of plastic material. As shown in FIG. 15, the semicircular edge of the fabric 20 is fastened by means of a seam or by means of clips at 22 in the region of the inner edge of the fastening strip 21 facing the helmet interior. The fastening strip 21 equipped in this way with the fabric 20 is placed on the helmet shell border 9, which is bordered with a strip-shaped part 15, and connected or hooked to the protective helmet by means of hooks 23. Here, the slightly stretched fabric 20 extends parallel to the helmet shell boundary 9, i.e. in the normal position, the angle a between the helmet shell boundary and the woven fabric 20 is zero. As shown in Fig. 13 by arrows, the fabric 20 can be deflected in both directions to put on and take off the protective helmet and then automatically returns to the normal position.

Durch die winkelige Anordnung des Gewebes 20' erhält man eine spezielle Spoilerwirkung der Blende 8.In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 16 to 18, a fastening strip 21 'is used, which is also essentially semicircularly bent and which consists in one piece of a base part 24 with a slightly bent holding part 25 which is widened in a wedge shape towards the two ends of the strip towards the outside of the helmet . The fabric 20 'is stretched on this holding part 25, covering the outer edge of the holding part 25, as illustrated in FIGS. 16 and 18. In the aforementioned manner, this panel is in turn attached to the helmet shell limit 9, for. B. hooked, the fastening strip 21 'partially overhanging the helmet shell limit 9, together with the fabric 20' attached to the outside of this fastening strip 21 '. As shown in FIG. 17, this results in an angle a between the plane of the helmet shell boundary and the plane of the fabric 20 'in the normal position. Here, too, the elastic fabric can be easily deflected on both sides. The angular arrangement of the fabric 20 ′ gives the screen 8 a special spoiler effect.
