Description

The invention relates to a folder according to the preamble of claim 1.

In the case of such a folding device of conventional design, it is known that webs of printing material are fed in one or more layers via turning devices and / or folding former, wherein webs guided over folding former are longitudinally folded. This is the so-called first fold. The printing material web is then fed to the cross-fold unit via pull rollers and possibly via a perforating device, where the so-called second fold is carried out. The cross folding unit usually consists of a pair of cutter-folding knives and a folding jaw cylinder. By means of appropriate puncture control, the printed copies cut to the desired section length can be collected on the folding knife cylinder with appropriate cylinder division. The cylinder arrangement of the cross fold unit can be expanded to produce a second cross fold. After the transverse folding, the copies are alternatively delivered to a paddle wheel or a belt line section to the second longitudinal folding unit, in which the copies are provided with the so-called third fold by means of a folding knife.

In the case of double production, different types of printed products can be produced from one web. The assembly of the folded printed products of different types provided as an insert can be carried out manually in that the one product is brought together from the one delivery unit with the other product from the other delivery unit. A compilation of the printed products of different types by means of collecting, consequently superimposing sections in front of the transverse fold, including the second and third folds, means that the printed products of different types are interlocked with one another and can only be separated from one another with great difficulty.

A superimposed cross-folded products with subsequent folding in the third folding device is known from DE-PS 35 034. The arrangement comprises a collecting roller, over the lateral surface of which each cross-folded copy is guided. The control for the union of the leading specimen, which runs more than once around the collecting roller with the trailing specimen, which runs almost once around the collecting roller, is carried out with a switch. The long transfer path for each specimen via the collecting roller and the guide lock is only disadvantageous with upper belts.

The cross fold is formed in this device in an insufficiently fast manner by knife folding. From two diversions for the intended superimposition, approximately two management errors add up.

It is therefore an object of the invention to further develop a folder of known design for the delivery of inserts in the form of folded printed copies of different types, and to make the structure simple and switchable for this purpose.

This object is achieved by the application of the features listed in the characterizing part of claim 1.

From DE 33 25 543 A1, a folder with a detour line for cross-folded copies is already known, but this is set up for the purpose of folding cross-folded copies that are transported on a gap in one cycle in the third folding device.

The advantage of such an assembly of inserts is that the inserts are easy to separate from a production with collecting and that high speeds can be achieved in production with flap folder and subsequent knife folding of two copies lying one inside the other. By the straight version at least one copy each gives a clear reference position for the copy to be placed on it. The fact that the straight-running specimen lies on the lower ribbon line and the connection of the detour line above prevents the specimens from being misaligned due to the action of gravity.

Fig. 3
another training variant of a collecting device.

Gegebenenfalls kann mit Hilfe eines weiteren Falzmesserzylinders ein zweiter Querfalz bei den auf dem Falzklappenzylinder 7 aufliegenden Druckexemplaren erzeugt werden.1 shows a conventional folder to which one or more print carrier webs 2 printed on one or both sides are fed via a former 1. The print carrier web 2 can also be fed via turning bars. If the print carrier web 2 is fed via the former 1, it is folded in the longitudinal direction. This is the so-called first fold. Behind the folding former 1, the often longitudinally cut print carrier web 2 is guided over a perforating device comprising two perforating rollers 3, 4 and arrives at a pair of folding jaw folding knife cylinders 5, 7. The cutting cylinders 6 can be cut to the desired section lengths by means of cutting cylinders 6 which can be adjusted on the folding knife cylinder 5. The printed copies lying on the folding knife cylinder 5 are pushed into a folding jaw cylinder 7 by means of folding knives in corresponding folding jaws. If necessary, a second transverse fold can be produced with the aid of a further folding knife cylinder in the printed copies resting on the folding jaw cylinder 7.

Behind the folding jaw cylinder 7, the printed copies A can be laid out in a scaled form on a delivery belt 10 by means of a paddle wheel 9. Another possibility is to feed the printed copies from the folding jaw cylinder 7 to the third fold (usually the second longitudinal fold) by means of a lifting tongue 11 via a ribbon line 12. This requires a pair of folding rollers 13 and above this a folding blade 14 which can be pushed in between them. Below the pair of folding rollers 13 there is another paddle wheel, which, however, is no longer shown here for the sake of simplicity.

According to the invention, before the third fold, i.e. In front of the folding device 13, 14, a collecting device 15 is provided, with the aid of which the printing copies A1, A2 arriving one behind the other, preferably already folded once, are collected. It is particularly advantageous to delay one fold copy in each case via a detour to the straight design formed by the ribbon line 12, so that it can be placed on the following fold copy with precise leading edges.

If the printed copies A1, A2 thus collected are fed to the third fold (13, 14) in such a way, an end product results which consists of two nested, preferably each at least once cross-folded copies of existing parts. These can now be inserted without much effort, for example, as inserts in daily newspapers in one work step. The insertion process can thus be carried out in a time-saving manner.

A first variant of a collecting cylinder 16 suitable as a collecting device is indicated in FIG. The collecting cylinder 16 is equipped with grippers 16 ', each of which grips a printed copy, for example A1, and, after preferably being transferred once, places it on the subsequent printed copy A2 with exact edges. At 16 ″, the collecting cylinder 16 is shown at another point in time at which it is already placing the printed copy A1 ′ on a subsequent copy A2. As indicated on the right in FIG. 2, it is thus possible to lay printed copies A1, A2 of different types on top of one another with the exact edges. For example, the printed copy A1 can be a brochure for men's fashion and the printed copy A2 can be a brochure for women's fashion. After the third fold has been formed, the two brochures are easily separable and can be inserted as one product, for example in a daily newspaper. It would also be conceivable to guide the products around the cylinder 16 by means of a belt guide, the grippers 16 ′ being able to function as deflectors at the time of transfer.

An advantageous collecting device is shown in FIG. 3, which comprises three ribbon lines 17, 18, 19. Coming from the left in each case, the printed copies reach the straight-running ribbon line 17, which is driven in a known manner and is guided around deflection rollers 20, 21. Above the ribbon cable 17, the outer ribbon cable 18 is indicated, which has an approximately M-shaped or bridge-shaped course. As a result, the printed copies coming from the left are taken and can alternately be fed to the detour via their input X and, after a time determined by the path of the delay line, pass through the output Y again to the ribbon line 17 or to the ribbon line 17 and the ribbon line 18 formed left section and thus precisely on a non-redirected print copy.

The outer ribbon line 18 is guided over ribbon and deflection rollers 22 and 23. In order to be able to set the respective belt tension, is a tension roller 24 between the pulleys 25 and 26 appropriate. Furthermore, the ribbon cable 18 is guided over deflection rollers 27 and 28.

The recess forming the detour in the outer ribbon line 18 encompasses the inner ribbon line 19 and is fixed on both sides by tensioning and deflecting rollers 22 and 23 in its length along the direction of the copy transport. A tensioning roller 29 is arranged between the upper tensioning and deflecting rollers 30, 31, so that the outer band line 18 and the inner band line 19 can thereby be tensioned in the desired manner, since these are guided together via these tensioning or deflecting rollers. At the level of the tensioning and deflecting rollers 22, 23, tensioning and deflecting rollers 32 and 33 are arranged, around which the inner band line 19 is guided. As FIG. 3 shows, the tensioning and deflecting rollers 32, 31 and 30, 33 are each connected in pairs to a swivel lever arrangement 34, 35 and 36, 37, the pivot point of which is indicated at 38, 39. As a result, the route of the diversion between X and Y can be changed in such a way that successively arriving print copies can be placed on top of one another with precise leading edges. It is also possible to use individual rods, for example equipped with threads, for the tensioning and deflecting rollers 30, 31 and 32, 33, whereby the detour can also be changed by changing their length. Of course, if the detour is changed by moving or pivoting the rollers 30, 31 and 32, 33, the tensioning and deflecting rollers 22 and 23 must also be changed in order to obtain a defined input X and output Y for the diversion. With the help of the controllable tongue 40 at the input X, certain, e.g. each redirected the odd-numbered copies A1 and the even-numbered copies A2 were just listed.
