Definitions
- the invention relates to a fiber folding block with an exposed on its back bracket, each having at its ends a leg extending between two folding layers, at least one rod extending between the legs, which pierces the folding layers and lies on both sides in holes in the legs.
- Such a fiber folding block is described in EP-0 077 608 A1.
- the rod is provided with threads on both sides, onto which nuts are screwed outside the legs. This is cumbersome.
- Such fiber folding blocks are delivered to the installation site with the retaining bracket attached to them. If a subsequent compression of the folded layers is to be carried out when mounting the fiber block on a relevant wall, in particular the furnace wall, then this is hardly possible since the nuts can only be pressed into the outermost folded layers only with difficulty. Retightening the nuts at the installation site is not possible.
- the object of the invention is to propose a fiber folding block of the type mentioned, which can be compressed later when mounting the fiber folding block on a wall to compress the fiber layers and in which the attachment of the rod to the bracket is simple by a screw-free connection.
- the above object is achieved in the case of a fiber folding block of the type mentioned at the outset in that the rod has an angled portion at one end outside the bore of one leg and that the rod extends freely beyond the bore of the other leg in the longitudinal direction thereof.
- the rod is therefore not provided with a screw-nut connection at any of its ends.
- the rod is held in the axial direction by bending one end. The bend is in turn held between the associated leg and the outermost folded position covering it. At the other end, the rod penetrates into the other extreme folding position. This is possible because there is no widening there. It is now possible to compact the fiber layers later during assembly. This is done by compressing the fiber layers. One or the other leg can bend accordingly and the rod protrudes with its freely projecting end correspondingly deeper into the outermost folded position in question.
- the rod is provided with a tip at its freely projecting end. This facilitates penetration into the outermost folded position.
- the legs are bendable about the bending axis relative to the bracket and the bracket is stiffened between the bending axes by folds on its longitudinal edges. This stiffening is therefore not present in the area of the bending axis. This ensures that the legs can be bent for subsequent compression of the folded layers, but the bracket itself does not bend in the process.
- a holding part of the bracket protruding laterally beyond the fiber folding block protrudes beyond the fiber folding block after a subsequent compression of the folding positions, such a holding part is dispensed with.
- a slot extending between the legs is instead formed on the bracket. With this, the retaining bracket and thus the fiber folding block can be attached to a corresponding pin of the wall. The slot also ensures mobility, which is favorable if the folded layers are subsequently compressed during assembly. One-sided, fixed mounting of a fiber folding block on the wall prevents such mobility.
- a fiber folding block 1 has a multiplicity of zigzag folding layers.
- the legs 4 and 5 are welded to edges 7 and 8 of tabs 9 and 10 of the bracket 6.
- the bracket 6 is stiffened at its longitudinal edges by folds 11 and 12.
- the tabs 9 and 10 and thus the legs 4 and 5 are bent about the bending axes 13 and 14 relative to the bracket 6 by about 90 ° (see FIG. 2).
- the folds 11 and 12 are each provided with bevels 15 at their two ends, which lie between the tabs 7 and 8. This also makes it possible to bend the legs 4 and 5 by more than 90 ° with respect to the retaining bracket 6.
- a slot 16 extends between the two longitudinal edges of the holding bracket 6 and widens on both sides in insertion openings 17. Edges 16a are formed on the longitudinal edges of the slot, which are chamfered towards the insertion openings. The folds on the slot lead to additional stiffening of the bracket.
- a pin (not shown in detail) is arranged, which can be inserted through one of the insertion openings 17 and then engages behind the retaining bracket 6. The assembly of the fiber folding block is made possible by the bevelled edges 16a at the insertion openings kes relieved and achieved its final tight arrangement on the wall.
- Each of the legs 4 and 5 is provided with three holes 18 and 19, respectively.
- a rod 20 is inserted into each bore 18 and the opposite bore 19. This pierces the inner folded layers (see FIG. 1).
- the rod 20 has at one end a bend 21 by 90 °, which is held by the outermost folded position 2 against the leg 4. With its other end 22, the rod 20 projects freely beyond the corresponding bore 19 (cf. FIG. 2).
- the end 22 is guided through the bore 19, but is not held on the leg 5 in the axial direction.
- the end 22 is provided with a tip 23. The end 22 with the tip 23 pushes into the outermost folded position 3.
- the pre-compressed fiber folding block 1 is fastened in the following manner to the holding bracket 6 or its legs 4 and 5:
- the outermost folded position 2 is opened, which is partially shown in FIG. 1.
- the retaining bracket 6 is placed with its folds 11 and 12 onto the fiber folding block 1 in such a way that the leg 4 lies against the fold position 2 closest to the fold position 2 and the leg 5 engages between the other outermost fold position 3 and the next fold position.
- the rods 20 are then pushed in from the leg 4, piercing the inner folded positions and engaging through the bores 19.
- the bends 21 are then on the outside of the leg 4.
- the outermost folded position 2 is folded down and secured if necessary. As a result, the rods 20 are securely held over the bends 21.
- the fiber folding block 1 can be attached to the mounting wall using the holding bracket 6 in the following manner:
- the bracket 6 is inserted with one of the insertion openings 17 on a pin of the mounting wall and moved against it. A further compression of the folded layers can then be carried out. To do this, press firmly on the outermost, free folded position 2 or 3. Here, the leg 4 or 5 can bend further about the bending axis 13 or 14. Because of the large area of the legs 4 and 5 there is an even pressure distribution. The rods 20 do not hinder such subsequent bending of the legs 4 and 5. The ends 22 will penetrate deeper into the outermost folded position 3 with their tips 23 if the legs 4 and 5 bend.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a fiber folding block with an exposed on its back bracket, each having at its ends a leg extending between two folding layers, at least one rod extending between the legs, which pierces the folding layers and lies on both sides in holes in the legs.
Such a fiber folding block is described in EP-0 077 608 A1. In this case, the rod is provided with threads on both sides, onto which nuts are screwed outside the legs. This is cumbersome. Such fiber folding blocks are delivered to the installation site with the retaining bracket attached to them.
In the fiber folding block described in EP 0 077 608 A1, the one fastening end of the holding bracket projects beyond the fiber folding block (cf. also reference «Talking Room» Vol. 117, No. 9, 1984, page 785). This metallic fastening part is therefore in a joint that is open to the furnace interior. It is attacked in the oven mode.
The object of the invention is to propose a fiber folding block of the type mentioned, which can be compressed later when mounting the fiber folding block on a wall to compress the fiber layers and in which the attachment of the rod to the bracket is simple by a screw-free connection.
According to the invention, the above object is achieved in the case of a fiber folding block of the type mentioned at the outset in that the rod has an angled portion at one end outside the bore of one leg and that the rod extends freely beyond the bore of the other leg in the longitudinal direction thereof. The rod is therefore not provided with a screw-nut connection at any of its ends. The rod is held in the axial direction by bending one end.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the rod is provided with a tip at its freely projecting end. This facilitates penetration into the outermost folded position.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the legs are bendable about the bending axis relative to the bracket and the bracket is stiffened between the bending axes by folds on its longitudinal edges. This stiffening is therefore not present in the area of the bending axis. This ensures that the legs can be bent for subsequent compression of the folded layers, but the bracket itself does not bend in the process.
In order to avoid that a holding part of the bracket protruding laterally beyond the fiber folding block protrudes beyond the fiber folding block after a subsequent compression of the folding positions, such a holding part is dispensed with. In a development of the invention, a slot extending between the legs is instead formed on the bracket.
- FIG. 1 shows a fiber folding block with a holding bracket,
- Figure 2 shows the bracket with the rod inserted, and
- Figure 3 shows the bracket before bending his legs and inserting the rods.
A fiber folding block 1 has a multiplicity of zigzag folding layers.
The

The outermost folded

The
