Definitions
- the subject of the present invention is a stretcher trolley with a height-adjustable diaper plane.
- French Patent 2,439,583 describes a stretcher trolley comprising a plate on which the person to be transported is stretched and which is mounted on a pair of pivoting legs provided with wheels making it possible to move said stretcher on the ground.
- Each pair of legs is equipped with an unlocking bar which, when it abuts against the rear of an ambulance, the carriage resting by its front wheels on the rails of the latter, releases said legs so that they can get up and retract under the diaper tray.
- the bar in question cooperates with a manually operated lock so that, when the folded carriage is pulled out of the ambulance, the legs are released which, by their own weight, straighten out and place the carriage in the deployed rolling position.
- the French patent 2,439,583 provides in its figure 4 that the legs are telescopic. But the adjustment of the lengthening of the legs is not automatic; it must be carried out by hand whenever the height of the floor of an ambulance is not the same as that of the floor of the ambulance with which the truck previously cooperated. To adjust each leg, tighten and loosen a locking screw.
- the front and rear legs form scissors whose articulation is movable, the rear legs accompanying the front legs, when the pivoting thereof is controlled up or down, to pivot themselves in the same direction by opening or closing the scissors respectively. It is therefore clear that the rear legs are not independent of the front legs and that their respective pivotings are combined.
- rollers of the rear legs are mounted idly on an axis crossing the lights of the front legs, lights which each have a locking notch in which the axis is normally held by a bent lever articulated on the corresponding rear leg; this lever is capable of being controlled for unlocking the axis by a cable hooked on a rear lifting lever articulated on the branches of a support handle, branches which are integral with the rear legs.
- the extreme wheels of the truck are placed on the floor of the latter and the screw is operated so that said truck rests on the ground only by its rear wheels, the front wheels being slightly raised .
- the operator supports the loaded trolley by its support handle.
- the support member no longer being subjected to compression, the operator can, by acting on the simple levers, unlock the axes of the rollers and, by exerting a pivoting moment on the handles, raise the rear legs whose axes have casters move in the lights of the front jambs.
- the operator can, by acting on the release handle, uncouple the nut block from the support member, which member becomes free to slide backwards.
- the operator pushes the trolley on the ambulance floor, which causes the front legs to pivot up and the free recoil of the upper axis of the support member.
- This trolley of French patent 2 105 938 has the advantage of being easily adjustable in layer level and of being maneuverable by a single person. However, it has the disadvantage of being insecure; in fact, an involuntary operation of the rear lifting lever and the uncoupling handle of the nut block can cause the carriage to collapse. Another disadvantage is that when loading the truck into an ambulance and unloading it, the operator must provide a relatively large physical effort, generating fatigue and insecurity; in fact, if the support handle escapes it, the carriage tips over.
- the invention also aims to house the control means on the frame of the tray without hampering the movement of the legs of the legs.
- the carriage of the invention comprises, like that of French patent 2,439,583, a frame on which is fixed a diaper tray and which rests on the ground by means of a pair of inclined rear legs provided with wheels. and of a pair of inclined front legs also provided with wheels, these pairs of legs being tiltable independently of each other under the control of a deformable quadrilateral and said legs cooperating with a means of adjusting the level of the plate of layer.
- each pair of legs is connected to the frame by at least one link and a hinged bar, at one of their ends, on the frame and, at their other end, on the pair of legs in order to form in projection on a plane perpendicular to the layer tray a deformable quadrilateral, the links of the two pairs of legs being connected to a common means of adjusting the height of the layer tray and the bar of each pair of legs being connected to a control means the inclination of the legs.
- FIGS 1 to 4 there is shown an embodiment of a stretcher trolley according to the invention which comprises a frame 1 on which is fixed a layer tray 2 intended to receive an elongated person.
- each leg 7, 7a is connected to the frame 1 by connecting rods 11 articulated respectively around an axis 12 on the leg and integral in rotation with a shaft 13 pivotally mounted in bearings 14 fixed on the longitudinal members 3, 3a of the frame.
- a fork 16 On the shaft 13 of articulation of each link 11 on the longitudinal members is fixed a fork 16 extending inside the longitudinal members 3, 3a and whose branches are engaged in two notches 17, 17a provided on both sides another of a transmission bar 18, 18a ( Figures 1, 2) slidably mounted in each beam 3, 3a.
- the threaded rod 2 is provided with a crank 28 allowing the threaded rod 24 to rotate and act on the nut 23.
- the device comprises a bar 29 which is articulated at one of its ends around an axis 30 mounted in a yoke 31 fixed on the crosspiece 15 connecting each pair of legs 7, 7a ( Figures 3, 4 and 5).
- the bar 29 is articulated around an axis 32 integral with a ball joint 33 mounted in a corresponding housing of one of the branches of a bracket 34 whose other branch carries an axis 35 rotatably mounted in a bearing 36 fixed in each cross member 4, 5.
- the axis 35 is integral in rotation with a lifting beam 37 one end of which is articulated on the rod of a sliding retaining member 38 and the other end of which is articulated on the rod of a balancing damper 39, this member 38 and this damper 39 being fixed by an articulation on the cross-member 5.
- the member 38 is adjustable and controlled by a means such as a push button making it possible to release its internal piston so that the inclination legs 7, 7a can be modified with respect to the frame by pushing the carriage against the rear of the ambulance in order to raise said legs or by pulling the carriage out of the ambulance in order to let these legs hang down and lower by their own weight, the means considered making it possible, when it ceases to be requested, to maintain the legs in position.
- a means such as a push button making it possible to release its internal piston so that the inclination legs 7, 7a can be modified with respect to the frame by pushing the carriage against the rear of the ambulance in order to raise said legs or by pulling the carriage out of the ambulance in order to let these legs hang down and lower by their own weight, the means considered making it possible, when it ceases to be requested, to maintain the legs in position.
- a stop member 41 constituted by a U-shaped bar capable of coming to bear against the legs 7 when they are partially folded back while the legs 7a are not, the tray being tilted.
- the device according to the invention operates in the following manner.
- the diaper tray being at a determined height, it may be necessary to bring it to another level in order in particular to load the stretcher in an ambulance.
- action is taken on the crank 28 in order to rotate the threaded rod 24 (FIG. 5) and to move the nut 23 longitudinally relative to the screw.
- the nut 23 being articulated in the yoke 22, it rotates the shaft 21 pivotally mounted in bearings of the cross-member 5.
- the forks 20 integral with the shaft 21 are also rotated and act by the notches 19,19a on the bars 18, 18a which slide longitudinally in the longitudinal members 3, 3a.
- the legs 7, 7a can be folded completely.
