Die Aktivierungstemperatur des Schmelzklebers kann dabei -ie sich gezeigt hat - durchaus erheblich höher sein, als das Kunststoffmaterial bei direkter Wärmeeinwirkung - beispielsweise durch eine Heizplatte - aushalten kann. Dies mag damit zusammenhängen, daß offenbar die Wärmeableitung innerhalb des Kunststoffmaterials so gut ist, daß dié kurzfristige Wärmeeinwirkung nicht schädlich ist. Die Wärme durchdringt dabei den Einbandrücken 3 und aktiviert so den Schmelzkleberstreifen 10. Nach entsprechender Benetzung der Längskanten der Papierblätter kann der Einband 1 von der Heizplatte heruntergenommen werden.
