Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a plastic hair comb with comb teeth and comb back.
When combing the hair with a plastic hairdressing comb, the hair and comb are generally electrostatically charged in a completely uncontrolled manner, especially when it is dry. This affects the hair's stylability.
The electrostatic charging of the hair when combing is caused by frictional electricity (triboelectric effect). Because of the insulating properties of comb and hair, the separated charges cannot flow away and lead to charge accumulations of opposite polarity on the hair and comb. For this purpose, a series of voltages can be set up in such a way that there is a positive charge when rubbed with the substance following in the series and a negative charge when rubbed with the preceding substance. According to Coehn's law on charging, it applies to insulators that the substance with the higher dielectric constant charges positively.
Even if one of the substances in contact is a conductor, charging of the other substance cannot be completely prevented because the charges generated on the insulator due to friction on the conductor remain there at least in part. Especially with dry air (and dry hair), an individually more or less strong or annoying electrostatic charge cannot be avoided even when using a metal comb or a plastic comb coated with metal.
The invention has for its object to provide a comb made of plastic, the use of which the hair is electrostatically charged in a certain way, in particular not noticeably or not disruptively. In the case of the hair comb of the type mentioned at the outset, the solution according to the invention is characterized by the structure of at least one section which negatively charges the hair when combing and at least one section which charges the hair positively when combing.
According to the invention, the comb is thus composed of materials, one of which is in front of the hair in the series of tension mentioned at the beginning and the other is in the series of tension after the hair. The invention can also be described with reference to Coehn's law on charging so that the comb is to be composed of at least two isolating individual areas, the material of one individual area having a lower dielectric constant than the hair and the material of the other area having a higher dielectric constant than the hair should.
By using two plastics according to the invention which, taken on their own, charge the hair about the same strength but with different polarity when combing, an automatic neutralization of the electrostatic loading of the hair which normally occurs when combing can be achieved. The ratio of the volumes and / or the spatial distribution of the two section types are preferably selected in the sense of mutually neutralizing the charges generated by the sections on the hair. With appropriate adaptation of the material, volume and spatial distribution, hair combed with the comb according to the invention shows practically no resulting electrostatic charge. In principle, however, it is also within the scope of the invention to specify a specific, desired electrostatic charge by selecting the individual materials, volume ratios and / or spatial distributions of the two section types.
- Fig. 1 einen Kamm in der Gesamtansicht; und
- Fig. 2 einen Querschnitt zur Längsrichtung des Kamms.
- Figure 1 shows a comb in the overall view. and
- Fig. 2 shows a cross section to the longitudinal direction of the comb.
The exemplary embodiment of the volume distribution of the individual materials of the comb according to FIG. 2 is particularly favorable, but does not represent the structure that is possible on its own. To achieve the desired goal, complete tines can, for example, also be produced alternately from one or the other material type.
The materials of the two section types for producing the comb are selected from the aforementioned series of voltages in such a way that the comb produced results in a specific, but generally no resulting charge on the hair when used. In a particularly favorable embodiment, one section consists of polyamide, in particular of nylon, and the other section consists of polyethylene or acrylic-butadiene-styrene copolymer. A particularly suitable polymer to be combined with nylon according to the invention is the material supplied by BASF AG, Ludwigshafen, under the trademark Lupolen.
