Abstract

An enamel or paint touch-up kit for paint repair, expecially on automobiles, is disclosed consisting of an enamel container with a screw cap, the base of a touch-up brush extending into the container being attached to this screw cap. Additionally, a rust-removing tool is provided which is mounted, with its base in opposition to the base of the brush, to the screw cap and projecting away from the screw cap in the opposite direction with respect to the brush, and being accommodated in a hollow space formed by a protective cap seated on the screw cap and enclosing the rust-removing tool on all sides. This arrangement has the advantage that the screw cap can still be used, as before, as a handle for operating the touch-up brush. For a rust-removing operation, it is merely necessary to remove the protective cap of the novel enamel touch-up stick so that the container then serves as a handle for manipulating the rust-removing tool with the same being fixedly joined to this handle.

Description

The invention relates to a touch-up pen for touch-up paint. Paint touch-up pens are known (DE-PS 2630351), in which additional tools in the form of a rust removal brush are provided in a cylindrical cavity within a screw cap that closes off a paint container a lid of the additional room. This cover can be held in laterally projecting slots in slots on the edge of the cavity of the screw cap. The rust remover brush can be removed in this way and inserted in the end of the screw cap, so that the touch-up pen itself can serve as a handle. It is disadvantageous, however, that the derusting tool, which is held relatively loosely in slots in this way, does not sit firmly enough on the screw cap and can also fall out of the fastening during processing. If you work with the rust remover brush in such a way that the end of the brush is only grasped on the relatively small cover, poor guidance is possible.

For rust removal work but also paint sticks of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1 have become known (see GB-A-2 068 217) which are filled with a rust removal liquid and whose screw cap has a dab brush on one side, which in closed container a rust remover hangs from the container and on the other side opposite the brush. With such designs, the de-rusting tool can be grasped as a handle on the entire container when the container is closed, but the relatively broad de-rusting brush, which consists of wire bristles, only allows a relatively large area to be processed. In the case of small rust spots, it cannot be ruled out that the adjacent areas not provided with rust are also affected, which is undesirable in itself. It is also disadvantageous with such de-rusting pens that when the spots previously treated with the brush are dabbed, the brush itself faces the hand of the operator and therefore only allows relatively poor handling, also because of the different diameter of the screw cap and the approach with the de-rusting brush.

The present invention is therefore based on the object of designing a touch-up pen of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that targeted rust removal can be carried out in a simple and thorough manner before painting, without the touch-up paint touch-up process and the necessary handling of the touch-up brush being impaired.

To solve this problem, the characterizing features of claim 1 are provided. This configuration has the great advantage that the outer shape of the screw cap and its design as a handle for actuating the dab brush can be retained, but that only the protective cap has to be removed for the rust removal process, so that the entire touch-up pen is then used as a handle Actuation of the rust removal tool is used, which is firmly connected to this handle, so that effortless and targeted work with the rust removal tool is possible. The protective cap can be easily removed to make the derusting tool accessible. It also sits securely on the actual screw part of the screw cap and forms a profiled outer surface suitable for screwing on, which can be easily grasped.

In contrast to the use of a rust removal wire brush, the knife provided enables a much more targeted, local rust removal, with which the body parts adjacent to the rust point, but not yet provided with a rust deposit, need not be touched. This knife is visible from the outside through the protective cap, but remains covered during the dabbing process.

It is advantageous if the knife blade has an oblique cutting edge in the manner of an eraser knife. This configuration enables the tool to be attached point by point.

It is also fastened in a rotationally fixed manner to the screw cap 6 and in this way allows the screw cap 6 to be screwed on by engaging the outer surfaces 14a of the protective cap 14, which in turn form a uniform polygon in plan view (FIG. 4).

Vorteilhaft ist dabei, dass das Entrosterwerkzeug 9 selbst fest mit dem Lackstift verbunden ist, so dass, wenn notwendig, auch grössere Kräfte gezielt aufgebracht werden können.

It is advantageous that the derusting tool 9 itself is firmly connected to the touch-up pen, so that, if necessary, larger forces can also be applied in a targeted manner.

If the rust removal process is finished, the protective cap 14 is put back on and, with its help, the screw cap 6 is removed from the container 1 by turning, so that it serves as a handle for the dab brush 4 in the form shown in FIG Container 1 located paint can be immersed in a known manner and used for touch-up paint repair. After completion of the work, the screw cap 6 with the protective cap 14 is screwed back onto the container 1, so that the touch-up pen is in the initial state of FIG. 1.

The stable connection of the rust removal tool 9 with the entire touch-up pen via the screw cap 6, to which this tool can be attached in one piece, is advantageous.

Claims (4)

1. Lacquer stick for patching up paintwork, particularly on motor vehicles, consisting of a paint container with a screw cap on which is fixed the root of a stippling brush which projects into the container, an additional rust removing tool being provided, the root of which is fixed on the screw cap opposite that of the brush, that a transparent protective cap which forms a hollow space is fitted onto the screw cap (6) which encloses the rust removing tool (9) on all sides and in that the rust removing tool (9) consists of a knife blade (10) and in that the protective cap (14) is provided on its open rim with polygonally disposed peripheral faces (13a) and is fitted by this onto a collar (13) of the screw cap which is provided with corresponding peripheral faces (14a) and which encloses the root (8) of the rust removing tool (9).

2. Lacquer stick according to Claim 1, characterised in that the knife blade (10) has a sloping cutting edge (11) after the fashion of an erasing knife.

3. Lacquer stick according to Claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the collar (13), the projecting piece (12) and the fixing root (5) for the stippling brush (4) are produced in one piece with the screw cap (6).
