- the object of the present invention is to propose an installation for washing inert materials, such as sand, gravel or similar materials, eliminating or greatly reducing these drawbacks.
- each rotor is provided with annular transverse diaphragms delimiting annular channels; each channel comprises several buckets at its periphery, the bottom of which is provided with holes and the lifting of which is inclined relative to the shaft so that, when the rotors rotate, the washing liquid present in each rotor overflows outside the lowest diaphragm of each rotor, and so that the inert material to be washed, introduced by the mouth of the rotor located at one end of the installation, advances against the current passing through all the rotors before being discharged through the orifice of the ro tor located at the other end of the installation.
- the advantages obtained thanks to this invention consist essentially in that it is possible to wash inert materials of any size even if very dirty; in that the consumption of washing liquid and motive energy is much lower than that of installations of known type, even compared to the quantity of washed material produced; in that the installation has a longer service life and in that it requires only reduced maintenance.
