Abstract

Bei längsgestellten Elektrolysezellen, insbesondere zur Herstellung von Aluminium, fallen hohe Investitions- und Betriebskosten für Schienenanordnung außerhalb der Zelle an. Die erzeugten Magnetfelder bewirken außer­ dem die Ausbildung von Metallströmungen.
Wenn mindestens die in Stromrichtung (I) letzten Kathodenbarrenenden beidseits der Elektrolysezelle (10) über Stromschienen (20) zum stromauf liegenden Ende (24) bzw. zum stromab liegenden Ende (26) geführt wer­ den, entsteht eine Asymmetrie, welche die schädlichen Einflüsse der Magnetfelder verhindert und sowohl Inve­ stitions- als auch Betriebskosten senken hilft.
