Der Geruchsverschluss ergibt sich in an sich bekannter Weise dadurch, dass jeder Wasserstrom im Gehäuse unter einer Tauchwand her und über eine Stauwand hinweg geführt wird. Im Gehäuse verbleibt also ständig Wasser bis in Höhe der Stauwand. Das Innere des Gehäuses ist im Bereich der Tauchwand und der Stauwand durch eine Trennwand in zwei Kanäle aufgeteilt, von denen der eine das von der Haushaltsmaschine, der andere das vom Spülbecken bzw. Waschbecken kommende Wasser führt.
