Abstract

Ground reservoir, the bottom of which is situated below ground and which is enclosed by an embankment, in which the liquid level in the reservoir can be raised above ground level. The reservoir is sealed in a manner known in the art by means of a liquid-tight plastic membrane, which rests on a drainable capillary-breaching layer. By adjusting the difference between the water surface in the reservoir and the ground water table, the hydrostatic pressure on the bottom of the reservoir can be made sufficient to prevent the bottom being sucked up and damaged by propellers that are used to set the water in motion. <IMAGE>
