Abstract

The flat, liquid-permeable device, especially for use as a press felt and in papermaking machines, consists of a body 1 produced from a moulded polymer. This body has openings 2 formed during the moulding process and possibly cavities. The diameter of the opening increases progressively from one surface to the other in such a way that the surface facing the corresponding paper web is microporous, whereas the other surface has pores that are much more open. A method for production of such a device is also described. <IMAGE>
