Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of glucagon or its fragments or derivatives by culturing a yeast strain that has been transformed with the aid of a replicatable expression medium containing a gene which codes for the expression of such products. A synthetic yeast is prepared which codes for glucagon or its derivatives. Replicatable expression media are also prepared which contain a replication system to bring about plasmid stabilization in the yeast and a DNA sequence that codes for glucagon or its fragments or derivatives. Transformed yeast strains containing such expression media are also obtained. <IMAGE>
