Abstract

A plastic container 1 is produced by blowing as a barrel having a neck opening 9, on which a flange collar 5 is formed. A cap 2 has an inner edge 6, which extends down into the neck opening of the barrel, an outer edge 14 and an outer edge flange 4 turned away therefrom. When the barrel 1 is closed, a sealing ring 7 is pressed down against the upper edge of the neck 9, a clamping ring 8 gripping around the outer edge flange 4 and the flange ring 5 of the cap and pressing the cap 2 down against the barrel 1. The bottom 3 of the cap has reinforcing ribs in the form of annular projections 12, 13 and radial ribs 11.
