Abstract
A method of manufacturing a fibre preform 12, comprising stacked fibre plies, for laying ifl a mould for forming a wind turbine blade. Before laying the fibre preform 12 in the mould for forming a wind turbine blade, fibre plies in a portion of the stacked fibre plies are moved relative to each other into a predetermined position. The predetermined position is selected such that there is substantially no creasing of the fibre preform when the fibre preform 12 is laid in the mould for forming a wind turbine blade. The portion of the stacked fibre plies are then stitched together in the predetermined position by stitches extending in the spanwise direction of the wind turbine blade.
