Abstract
The present invention relates to a tablet computer holder. The tablet computer holder comprises a back plate and a plurality of corner supports. The corner supports are releasably attached to the back plate, and comprises a bottom section, a top section and a mid-section connecting the bottom section with the top section. The bottom section, top section, and mid-section, in conjunction, form a cavity configured for receiving a corner of a tablet computer. The bottom section comprises a first surface part configured for facing the cavity, and a second surface part configured for supporting a corner/leg of the back plate.
Description
Background of the invention
Many types of conventional tablet computer holders exist. However, only a few solutions are focused on holders for multiple types/sizes of tablet computers. US20140092531 discloses a display fixture for securely displaying a mobile device includes a cross brace and at least two corner members. The cross brace defines a center portion and arms each radially extending outwardly therefrom and terminating in a free end opposite the center portion. The at least two corner members each include a first substantially planar wall, a second substantially planar wall, and two sidewalls extending between substantially linear closed edges of the first substantially planar wall and the second substantially planar wall. A cavity is defined by each of the at least two corner members and is configured to receive a corner of the mobile device. Each of the at least two corner members is secured to a different free end of the cross brace such that an opening to the cavity of each of the at least two corner members faces the center portion of the cross brace.
Summary of the invention
The inventor of the present invention has developed a solution where only a part of the tablet computer holder is to be substituted when changing from one type/size of tablet to another. Disclosed herein is a tablet computer holder comprising a back plate and a plurality of corner supports. The corner supports can be produced with a cavity of varying volume and/or height and/or depth for use with specific tablet computers. Hence, in some situations, only the corner supports are to be exchanged for different ones when changing from one type of tablet computer to another. The back plate is often configured for different uses (e.g. for mount coupling or for handle straps), and is therefore often the expensive part. Furthermore, the majority of the material costs for tablet holders are related to the back plate.
One aspect relates to a tablet computer holder comprising: - a back plate; and - corner supports; wherein the corner supports are releasably attached to the back plate; wherein the corner supports comprises: - a bottom section; - a top section; and - a mid-section connecting the bottom section with the top section; wherein the bottom section, top section, and mid-section in conjunction form a cavity configured for receiving a corner of a tablet computer; wherein the bottom section comprises a first surface part configured for facing the cavity, and a second surface part configured for supporting a corner/leg of the back plate.
Disclosed herein is a tablet computer holder. The tablet computer holder comprises a back plate and a plurality of corner supports, preferably four corner supports.
The corner supports are releasably attached to the back plate, i.e. can be detached and attached during normal operation, and comprises a bottom section, a top section and a mid-section connecting the bottom section with the top section. The bottom section, top section, and mid-section, in conjunction, form a cavity configured for receiving a corner of a tablet computer. The height of the mid-section controls the height of the cavity.
The bottom section comprises a first surface part configured for facing the cavity, and a second surface part configured for supporting a corner/leg of the back plate.
In one or more embodiments, the second surface part is positioned at a lower level in the bottom section than the first surface part. This allows for a uniform contact surface between the tablet computer and both the corner supports and the back plate, since the first surface part of the corner supports and the front surface of the back plate will be aligned.
In one or more embodiments, the level distance between the first surface part and the second surface part is equal to the thickness of the back plate.
In one or more embodiments, the part of the bottom section comprising the first surface part, the top section, and the mid-section in conjunction form a cavity configured for receiving a corner of a tablet computer.
In one or more embodiments, the tablet computer holder further comprises height adjusting means adapted for attachment to the back plate. Such means may be used, if only the thickness of tablet computers varies between two different tablets to be used interchangeably with the holder. The height adjusting means may be pads made from a compressible material, such as felt, elastomer or rubber. The pads may comprise an adhesive applied to the phase adapted for facing the back plate for easy attachment.
In one or more embodiments, the back plate comprises four legs and a body part, the legs extending radially outwardly from the body part; wherein the individual leg is configured to be supported by the second surface part of a corner support.
In one or more embodiments, the back plate and corner supports are configured for receiving a, preferably at least two, screw threaded fastening means for releasably attaching said corner supports to said back plate. When using at least two screw threaded fastening means, the risk of the corner supports being displaced during use is minimized. A second aspect relates to a corner support for a tablet computer holder comprising: - a bottom section; - a top section; and - a mid-section connecting the bottom section with the top section; wherein the bottom section, top section, and mid-section in conjunction form a cavity configured for receiving a corner of a tablet computer; wherein the bottom section comprises a first surface part configured for facing the cavity, and a second surface part configured for supporting a corner of a back plate of a tablet computer holder according to the present invention.
In one or more embodiments, the second surface part is positioned at a lower level in the bottom section than the first surface part.
In one or more embodiments, the part of the bottom section comprising the first surface part, the top section, and the mid-section in conjunction form a cavity configured for receiving a corner of a tablet computer. A third aspect relates to a back plate for a tablet computer holder comprising four legs and a body part, the legs extending radially outwardly from the body part; wherein the individual leg is configured to be supported by the second surface part of a corner support for a tablet computer holder according to the present invention.
In one or more embodiments, the back plate is configured for receiving a screw threaded fastening means for releasably attaching the corner supports to said back plate.
It should be noted that embodiments and features described in the context of one of the aspects of the present invention also apply to the other aspects of the invention.

Detailed description of the invention
Referring to Figure 1, the general scheme of the invention is shown, with the tablet computer mounted. The tablet computer holder 100, front view, comprises a back plate 200 and four corner supports 300. A back view is shown in Figure 2. The corner supports 300 are releasably attached to the back plate 200.
Figure 3 shows a perspective view of a corner support for a tablet computer holder, in accordance with various embodiments of the invention. The corner support 300 comprises a bottom section 320, a top section 310, and a midsection 330 connecting the bottom section 320 with the top section 310. The bottom section 320, top section 310, and mid-section 330 in conjunction form a cavity 340 configured for receiving a corner of a tablet computer. The bottom section 320 comprises a first surface part 322 configured for facing the cavity 340, and a second surface part 324 configured for supporting a corner/leg of the back plate 200. Two holes 326 are shown for receiving screw threaded fastening means for releasably attaching the corner support 300 to the back plate 200.
The second surface part 324 is positioned at a lower level in the bottom section 320 than the first surface part 322.
More specifically shown, the part of the bottom section comprising the first surface part 322, the top section 310, and the mid-section 330 in conjunction form a cavity 340 configured for receiving a corner of a tablet computer.
Figure 4 shows a front view of a tablet computer holder, in accordance with various embodiments of the invention. The back plate 200 comprises four legs 210 and a body part 220, the legs 210 extending radially outwardly from the body part 220. The individual leg 210 is configured to be supported by the second surface part 324 (Figure 3) of a corner support 300. Four height adjusting means 250 are shown. Such means may be used, if only the thickness of tablet computers varies between two different tablets to be used interchangeably with the holder. Threaded holes 240, two in each leg, are shown for receiving screw threaded fastening means for releasably attaching the corner support 300 to the back plate 200.
Figure 5 shows a back view of a tablet computer holder, in accordance with various embodiments of the invention. Four mount means 230 for handle strap attachment is shown.
