Abstract

The procedure involves making a tubular hood(18) made of a highly elastic film and which with a longitudinal stretch of at least 50 per cent in relation to the unstretched hood is laid upon the stack of loose items. The longitudinal stretch is produced at least partially by drawing the film over the items. The film in the transverse direction is stretched by at least 50 per cent, and preferably 80 per cent, in relation to the unstretched hood. An Independent claim is included for a device for wrapping a stack of loose items which has a longitudinal stretching component designed so that the hood in the longitudinal direction is elastically stretchable by at least 50% of its unstretched length.
