Abstract

A scoop wheel includes a trough to receive sand-water mixture. The first and second wheel assemblies are set apart coaxially in the trough. The first wheel is near the end face. At the opposite end is an overflow channel for waste water. Between this channel and the second wheel, and also between the wheels is a conveyor screw feeding sedimented sand to the first or second wheel. There is an inlet at the first wheel for sand-water mixture and outlets for sand from the wheels. In the new arrangement the screw (4) between the wheels (2,3) has a smaller outer diameter than the screw (5) for the second wheel (3).
