Abstract
In order to improve its economy, its use and its support properties, a fixation bandage, in particular for fractures of the upper arm and dislocations of the shoulder, consists of a single-piece band (1) which has, at its two ends, fastening means (2) for fastening the ends on the band (1) in such a way as to form a loop (3) or a cuff (4). The bandage is applied to the patient in such a way that the band (1) is applied at its one end so as to form the loop (3) around the angled forearm or the wrist, and the end is fastened on the band (1) with the aid of the fastening means (2), the band is guided across the shoulder lying opposite the injured shoulder, the injured arm or upper arm, from there obliquely across the back, and then once around the trunk, approximately at waist level, and over that part of the band (1) holding the forearm or the wrist, the still free end of the band (1) is applied around the adjacent upper arm so as to form the cuff (4) and is fastened on the band (1) with the aid of the fastening means (2). <IMAGE>
