Description

(WiGBl. S. 175)(WiGBl. P. 175)

AUSGEGEBEN AM 22. AUGUST 1957ISSUED AUGUST 22, 1957

Zusatz zum Patent 966Addendum to patent 966

(Ges. v. 15. 7. 1951)(Ges. Of July 15, 1951)

Bei dieser Nachbehandlung kann die Verdampferlauge selbst oder Fremdlauge zur Wäsche benutztThe main patent relates to a device for separating carbon dioxide from steam, in which the steam is treated with lye in a washer. According to the main patent, when using waste liquor for washing, the washing circuit and the evaporator circuit are arranged separately, whereby, since the absorption capacity of the liquor naturally gradually decreases during washing due to the conversion into soda, an increase in the concentration of the waste liquor by adding external liquor is provided. The invention is based on the knowledge that the lye occurring in evaporator systems already has a similar effect on the carbonic acid content of the steam produced, in that here as there the splitting of the bicarbonates is suppressed by increasing the sodium hydroxide ion concentration. In order to better utilize this effect of the vaporizer liquor, according to the invention, an increased alkalinity number of over 1000, preferably 2000, is used in the vaporizer. In this way it is already possible to achieve a substantial reduction in the CO 2 content, so that when the further treatment is expediently carried out by washing the steam in a lye washer, only a residual content of carbonic acid is present. With this post-treatment, the evaporator liquor itself or external liquor can be used for washing

In order to achieve the desired alkalinity number, the evaporator feed water is used if necessary, add external caustic solution. If necessary, one can also deal with the increased Caustic concentration in the evaporator achieved cleaning or this process Repeat multiple evaporation with increased caustic concentration.
