Harmonikaförmig gefalteter Kastenbalg Zum Schutz der Gleitbahnen hin- und hergehender Teile von Werkzeugmaschinen und insbesondere zum Schutz senkrecht stehender- Säulen, beispielsweise von Bohrmaschinen, bei denen ein Maschinenteil längs dieser Säule geführt werden muß, werden häufig harmonikaförmig gefaltete Kastenbälge verwendet. Unter einem Kastenbalg ist dabei ein Balg zu verstehen, der die Gleitbahn bzw. die Säule vollständig umschließt und mit seinem oberen Ende an dem Maschinengestell befestigt ist, während das untere Balgende an dem längs der Säule verschiebbaren Maschinenteil befestigt werden muß. Man kann derartige Kastenbälge oder, wie man zu sagen pflegt, allseitig geschlossene Bälge in der Herstellerwerkstatt vollständig fertigstellen und sie am Ort der Maschine mit ihrem oberen und unteren Ende in der oben angedeuteten Weise an der Maschine befestigen. Die Fig. i zeigt einen Querschnitt durch das Bafgmaterial an der Stelle der Längsnaht. Die beiden Stücke aus Pappe oder aus pappeähnlichem Material, welche an den strichpunktiert angedeuteten Stellen io-io stumpf zusammenstoßen, sind mit i i und 12 bezeichnet. Die aus Textilstoff oder Kunstlider bestehende Außenbelegung der Pappe i i ist mit 13 bezeichnet und die gleichartige Außenbelegung der Pappe 12 mit 14.
