Chlordiphenyl, Phthalsäureestern oder Trikresylphosphat, Überzüge, Drucke u. dgl. von hoher Filmelastizität und Haftfestigkeit auf Polyäthylen und Gemischen von Polyäthylen mit Polymerisaten anderer Kohlenwasserstoffe erhalten werden. Als Lösungsmittel dienen z. B. Benzolkohlenwasserstoffe, Ester, chlorierte Kohlenwasserstoffe, Ketone oder Gemische davon. Die Überzugsmittel können farblos, mit löslichen Farbstoffen angefärbt oder mit anorganischen oder organischen Pigmenten verarbeitet sein und trocknen bei normaler Temperatur, gegebenenfalls unter Wärmeanwendung und mit Trockenstoffzusätzen. Der gleiche Lack kann mit Pigmentfarben, z. B. Eisenoxydrot, Titandioxyd, oder mit löslichen Farbstoffen pigmentiert bzw. angefärbt werden. Die Trocknung erfolgt bei normaler Temperatur bzw. beschleunigt durch Wärmeeinwirkung mit oder ohne Zusatz von Trockenstoffen, wie Blei-Mangan-Cobalt-Naphthenat.
