Description

Lockable bike rack

The subject of the present innovation is a lockable bicycle stand according to the generic term of claim 1.

It is known to hold bicycles and other two-wheelers, such as mopeds, scooters and the like, in a bicycle stand. The bicycle stand consists of one or more horizontally arranged beams firmly anchored in the ground, which support pairs of brackets into which the front wheel of the bicycle is inserted. To prevent theft, it is known to use a chain with a lock attached to it, which chain is inserted through the pair of brackets and through the front wheel of the bicycle, and is then locked.

This well-known anti-theft device has the disadvantage that it essentially only secures the front wheel of the bicycle and is also difficult to use because the bicycle owner has to carry this anti-theft device with him.

There is also the further disadvantage that with the well-known anti-theft device with chain and lock, the front tire of the bicycle can be at least partially pulled out of the pair of brackets of the bicycle stand, which means that the bicycle is no longer held securely in the bicycle stand and there is therefore a risk of it falling over, which can damage your own bicycle as well as neighboring bicycles.

The innovation is therefore based on the task of developing a lockable bicycle stand of the type mentioned above in such a way that the bicycle is completely protected against theft.

To solve the problem posed, the innovation is characterized by the technical teaching of claim 1.

The main feature of the innovation is that there no longer has to be an anti-theft device on the bike itself, but rather this anti-theft device is attached to the bike stand. This has the advantage that the owner of the bike no longer has to carry precautions against theft, such as heavy chains, locks and the like, but that these security measures are taken on the bike stand itself. A bike stand in line with the innovation is therefore particularly suitable for company parking spaces, rental parking spaces in apartments and commercial establishments, bicycle parking spaces in schools and the like.

According to a preferred embodiment of the present innovation, a bracket is arranged on the bicycle stand so that it can pivot, which bracket can be designed as a profile tube or which can be a solid rod, and a clamp with a lock arranged on it is arranged on the front free end of the bracket.

This has the significant advantage that when the bracket is swung down from the bike stand, the clamp attached to the front, free end of the bracket can be brought close to the bike frame. This clamp is designed as a sleeve with two shell halves, which can be folded together like a hinge, with the folding of the two shell halves being secured by a lock.

The bicycle frame can now be secured directly to the bicycle stand using the attached clamp.

To use the lockable bike stand, the user swings the upright bracket against a wall bracket downwards until he is in the area of his bike, which is positioned in the pair of brackets on the bike stand with its front wheel. The bracket is long enough that the clamp can be opened and one of the frame bars is then gripped by the bracket. It is important that the shell halves that form the clamp are adjustable in their distance in order to be able to adapt the clamp to different bicycle bar tubes.

In a further embodiment of the invention, it can be provided that the lock in the area of the clamp is designed as a coin-operated lock, which either releases or collects the inserted coin after using the bicycle stand.

The subject matter of the present innovation arises not only from the subject matter of the individual protection claims, but also from the combination of the individual protection claims with one another.

All documents, including the summary, disclosed information and features, in particular the spatial configuration shown in the drawings, are claimed as essential to the invention insofar as they are new individually or in combination compared to the prior art.

The innovation is explained in more detail below using drawings showing several implementation options. The drawings and their descriptions reveal further key features and advantages of the innovation.

The lockable bicycle stand according to the innovation consists essentially of an existing bicycle stand 6 which is known per se and which, in a known manner, carries a series of pairs of brackets 5 which are intended to hold the front wheel of the bicycle to be held. If the bicycle stand is to be used in the manner according to the innovation, then a bracket 3 is arranged on the bicycle stand 6 which serves as a pivot bearing for a bracket 1 which is held pivotably there. In the rest position, the bracket 1 is pivoted upwards in the direction of arrow 20 and is firmly seated there in a wall bracket 4.

To use, the bracket 1 is pivoted downwards in the opposite direction to the arrow 20 shown and a clamp 2 with a lock 18 (Figure 4) is arranged at the free front end of the bracket 1.

According to Figure 4, the clamp 2 consists of two symmetrical shell halves 10, 11, which are separated from each other in the plane 12. On one side, the two shell halves 10, 11 are pivotally connected to each other via a hinge 13. In this way, the two shell halves 10, 11 can be opened

and the opened clamp 2 can be put over a bicycle frame of the bicycle.

To prevent unauthorized opening of the shell halves 10, 11 of the clamp 2, a clamp closure as shown in Figure 4 is provided. The clamp closure essentially consists of a clamp 14, which is accommodated in a lower holder 15 and an upper holder 16. It is connected to a hand lever

18 is arranged. The lock 18 is operated with a key, but can also be operated with coding disks and the like. It is also possible to design the lock with a permanent magnetic strip as a code lock, as a combination lock or as a magnetic card lock/3.

The lock engages with its lockable end into the upper shell half 11, so that the bracket 14 is secured against unauthorized opening in the direction of arrow 19. Only when the lock 18 is actuated can the hand lever 17 be lifted upwards in the direction of arrow 19 and the bracket 14 can then be removed from the lower holder 15, while it remains in the upper holder 16.

Of course, other means of securing two shell halves 10, 11 against unauthorized opening also fall within the scope of the present invention, such as direct-acting locks, i.e. plug locks that work without a shackle.

The key feature of the innovation is that the bicycle handlebar and thus the bicycle frame itself is protected against theft on the bicycle stand 6, which is done with the aforementioned bracket 1 and the lockable clamp 2 attached to it.

both shell halves 10,11 are adjustable in order to be able to adapt the inner, receiving diameter of the clamp 2 to different diameters of bicycle bars.

Figure 3 shows a further embodiment of the innovation, where it can be seen that the clip 2 is combined with a coin box 8 which has a coin slot 9.

This means that the lock 18 shown in Figure 4 can be operated with coins through the coin box 8, whereby it is possible that the coin is returned or collected after using the bicycle stand.

In the rest position, the bracket 1 is pivoted upwards in the direction of arrow 20 according to Figure 2, so that the clamp 2 engages in a wall bracket 4. It can also be provided here that a coin operation is present, so that the bracket 1 can only be pivoted away from the wall bracket 4 when a coin is used to open the lock 18. In this case, safety devices can be provided in the bracket 3, which is attached to the bicycle stand 6, in order to prevent the bracket 1 from accidentally falling down when the lockable bicycle stand is not in use.

It goes without saying that three different bars can be secured to the bicycle frame 7, i.e. not only the diagonal bar shown in Figure 1, but also other bars of the bicycle.
