Description
- Verfahren zur Herstellung harzartiger Kondensationsprodukte Gegenstand des Patents 727 116 ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von harzartigen, insbesondere als Schmierölverbesserungsmittel geeigneten Verbindungen, nach dem ungesättigte Kohlenstoffverbindungen mit einen Kohlenstoffring enthaltenden harzartigen Stoffen in Gegenwart von Lösungsmitteln, die im wesentlichen aus Chlorkohlenwasserstoffen oder chlorierten Äthern bestehen, unter Vermittlung von Borfluorid oder einer mit Fluorverbindungen behandelten Bleicherde in Reaktion gebracht werden.
- Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man an Stelle der im Hauptpatent erwähnten Chlorverbindungen auch die entsprechenden Verbindungen der übrigen Halogene, insbesondere von Brom und Jod, verwenden kann. Diese Verbindungen besitzen ebenso wie die Chlorverbindungen ein gutes Lösungsvermögen für Borfluorid und erleichtern dadurch die Umsetzung von ungesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffen mit harzartigen Stoffen unter dem Einfluß von Borfluorid. Beispiel In eine Mischung von 67 kg eines durch Spalten von Paraffin gewonnenen, an ungesättigten Kohlenstoffverbindungen reichen Produktes mit 33 kg Polystyrol und 75 1 Äthy lenbromid wird unter Rühren bei 30 bis 4o° während 8 Stunden Borfluorid eingeleitet. Das Kondensationsprodukt wird in 18o kg Maschinenöl (Viskosität 8,5° E/50°) unter Erwärmen auf r5o° gelöst und zur Entfernung von Äthylenbromid und Borfluorid mit überhitztem Wasserdampf behandelt. Setzt man zu einem deutschen Maschinenöl 311/o des so erhaltenen Produktes zu, so steigt die Viskosität des Schmieröls von i,6'° E auf r,96° E/99° und der Viskositätsindex von 5o auf go. Verwendet man als Lösungsmittel statt Äthylenbromid Benzol, Benzin, Äther, Ketone oder Alkohole oder arbeitet man überhaupt in Abwesenheit von Lösungsmitteln, so entstehen keine hochviskosen Produkte.

- PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung von harzartigen, insbesondere als Schmierölverbesserungsmittel geeigneten Verbindungen nach Patent 727 116, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Lösungsmittel andere Halogenkohlenwasserstoffe als Chlorkohlenwasserstoffe verwendet werden.
