Es ist höchst überraschend, daß dieser Werkstoff den chemischen Einwirkungen widersteht, denen er bei der Thioplastbildung ausgesetzt ist. Denn wenn es auch bekannt war, daß die elektrische Oxydation des Aluminiums zu einer gewissen Erhöhung seiner chemischen Widerstandsfähigkeit führt, so war doch nach den äußerst schlechten Erfahrungen, die man mit Aluminium unter gleichen Bedingungen gemacht hat, mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit anzunehmen, daß auch das elektrisch oxydierte Metall den Einwirkungen der alkalischen Polysulfidlösung nicht standhalten würde. Wider Erwarten zeigte sich jedoch, daß derartige an sich berechtigte Befürchtungen nicht zutreffen. Auch im Dauerbetrieb tritt selbst an den Rührwerkzeugen aus elektrisch oxydiertem Aluminium keinerlei Korrosion ein. Das geringe spezifische Gewicht des elektrisch oxydierten Aluminiums bietet überdies, insbesondere vor Edelstählen und verchromtem oder vernickeltem Eisen, dem Konstrukteur erhebliche Vorteile.It has now been found that using electrically oxidized Aluminum devices for the production of thioplasts with good storage stability can be built.
