Collection containers for old clothes

The invention relates to a collection container closed on all sides, in particular for old clothes, with an opening for throwing in the collected material in a side wall, with a pivoting flap for closing the opening, the flap being moved into the closed position by gravity.

A collection container of this type is known from DE-GBM 85 29 864.6, in which the flap is hinged to the upper edge of the opening and, in the closed position, hits the lower edge of the opening. However, with a collection container of this type, it cannot be avoided that the flap is forced open by strong winds, allowing rain and/or snow to penetrate into the container.

In addition, it is not possible to reliably prevent someone from entering the container and the resulting risk of theft.

The object of the invention is to develop a collecting container of the type mentioned above in such a way that its flap remains securely closed even in windy conditions and thus largely prevents the ingress of rain and/or snow.

This object is achieved according to the invention in the collecting container of the type mentioned at the outset in that the flap is hinged to the lower edge of the opening and extends from the hinge axis upwards to the upper edge of the opening and downwards a predetermined length into the collecting container.

The advantages of the invention lie in particular in the fact that the flap is hinged to the lower edge of the opening and extends from there upwards to the upper edge of the opening and downwards a predetermined length into the collection container. This arrangement ensures that the flap must be opened outwards and theft of collected goods is prevented by the fact that when opened, the lower free end of the flap effectively prevents free access to the collected goods. In addition, the flap can no longer be opened by wind; wind pressure acting on the flap merely presses the flap more firmly into its closed position. This significantly reduces the effects of weather on the collected goods, as rain and/or snow, for example, can no longer penetrate into the collection container through a flap opened by the wind.

According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the upper edge of the opening is offset outwards from the lower edge of the opening. This ensures that the flap runs diagonally upwards in the closed position and is held securely in this position by gravity.

The collecting container is preferably designed in such a way that the side wall containing the opening is bent towards the lower edge of the opening and runs inwards into the container by a predetermined length. This makes it more difficult to reach into the container from the outside.

Preferably, the lower end of the flap is bent towards the inside of the container. When the flap is open, the bent part of the flap is pointing upwards. This effectively prevents people from entering the collection container through the opening; it is made impossible to remove the collected material through the insertion opening.

It is particularly preferred to have a drainage channel on the inside of the flap that leads into a drainage hole. This drainage channel collects, for example, the rainwater that enters when the flap is open and directs it out of the inside of the container through the drainage hole, so that the rainwater that enters through the open flap cannot reach the collected material in the collection container.

Fig. 1 shows a front view of a collecting container 2, which consists of side walls 4, 6, 8, 10, a cover plate 12 and a base plate 14. The front side wall 10 is divided into several parts and comprises a part 10a that is detachably connected to the collecting container 2, a part 10b that is permanently inserted into the collecting container, a part 10c that is also firmly inserted into the collecting container but is bent into the interior of the container. An opening 16 covered by a flap 30 extends above this part.

Fig. 2 shows that the flap 30 is hinged to the upper edge of the bent part of the front side wall 10c, which at the same time forms the lower edge 18 of the opening 16, and abuts against the upper edge 20 of the opening 16. In addition, the flap 30 continues from the lower edge 18 of the opening 16 into the collecting container. A counterweight 32 is located on this lower part of the flap 30. The flap 30 is shown in its open position. It is clearly visible that a section of the part of the flap 30 located below the pivot axis is bent and thus significantly restricts the clear cross-section of the opening 16 when the flap 30 is open. The flap functions like a seesaw here.

Fig. 3 shows a rear view of the flap 30. The flap 30 has a counterweight 32 in its lower, bent part. In the upper part of the flap there is a slanted drainage channel on the back and a handle 36 on the front.

A collection container closed on all sides, in particular for old clothes, with an opening for throwing in the collected material in a side wall, with a pivoting flap for closing the opening, the flap coming into the closed position by gravity, characterized in that the flap (30) is hinged to the lower edge (18) of the opening (16) and extends from the hinge axis upwards to the upper edge (20) of the opening (16) and downwards a predetermined length into the collection container (2). 2. Collecting container closed on all sides according to claim characterized in that the upper edge (20) of the opening (16) is offset outwards from the lower edge (18) of the opening (16). 3. Collecting container closed on all sides according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the side wall (10) of the collecting container, which contains the opening (16), extends bent towards the lower edge (18) of the opening (16) by a predetermined length (10c) inwards into the container. 4. Collecting container closed on all sides according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the flap (30) is designed as a flat plate and can be pivoted outwards from the closed position into the open position. 5. Collecting container closed on all sides according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a counterweight (32) is arranged at the lower end of the flap (30). 6. Collecting container closed on all sides according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the lower end of the flap (30) is bent inwards towards the container. 7. Collecting container closed on all sides according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a drainage channel (34) opening into a drainage hole is provided on the inside of the flap (30). 8.
