COACH SEAT FOR EXTERNAL BUS

The invention relates to a seat for a bus with a base, a seat pivotably mounted on the latter and a floating seat back mounted on the latter.

In every bus there is usually a passenger seat next to the driver, which is not intended for passengers, but may only be used by accompanying persons. This passenger seat is usually located in the entrance area and obstructs access to the bus, so it is known that such passenger seats can be folded forward using sometimes complicated mechanisms.

It is also known to remove such a passenger seat from the entry area by folding the seat up vertically so that the seat base, the vertically upright seat and the seat backrest are all arranged in a vertical plane. This does have the advantage that the passenger seat is not very obstructive when getting in, but if the passenger seat is not needed, it must still be kept in the normal operating position during the journey, as the raised seat would obstruct the driver's view.

The passenger seat can have a secured locking mechanism that prevents the passenger seat from folding up if the locking mechanism is not released.
