Canopy for a presentation wall

The invention relates to a canopy for a presentation wall for trade fair and sales stands with a flat receiving part, the upper and lower edges of which each have a horizontal U-profile rail for receiving information or advertising boards and which is provided with a cantilevered upper end panel.

Such canopies, which limit the upper end of perforated walls or other walls on which a multitude of diverse objects, e.g. tools, are held that are to be presented, serve as a consumer guidance system. They are currently assembled from individual parts. The receiving part, which is inclined forwards from bottom to top to the plane of the presentation wall, consists of a rectangular mat made of parallel wires, the length of which corresponds to the length of the presentation wall.

Parallel length-adjustable struts protrude from the top edge of the mat, one end of which is attached to mounting parts of the perforated wall &ogr;.etc. and the other end of which has opaque strip sections at a distance from the mounting part, on the back of which fluorescent tubes are attached using special brackets, which illuminate the information or advertising boards. In long arrangements, it is difficult to align the mounting parts and strips in a straight line, which can result in undesirable waves and unevenness. The assembly and disassembly of such a multi-part canopy is complicated and time-consuming due to the necessary assembly and screwing of the many parts. Both are undesirable in such structures.

The invention is based on the object of designing the canopy mentioned at the beginning in such a way that it can be easily attached to a presentation wall and assembled into a long canopy band that offers a correct appearance.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the receiving part is designed as a stable frame, from the upper edge of which a diagonally projecting roof part extends, which ends at the front at a downwardly hanging insert frame, which runs approximately parallel to the plane of the receiving part, that on both side edges of the receiving part and the roof part a hanging wire mesh side cheek is arranged, which extends from the insert frame to the lower edge of the receiving part

Such a canopy forms a one-piece construction unit of a handy width, which can be hung directly into the perforated wall columns of the presentation wall using the hanging elements, so that attachments for the perforated walls are not required. The hanging elements are hooks or similar, the alignment of which to the plane of the receiving part causes it to hang diagonally forwards. By lining up several canopies, the desired length of the upper cover of the presentation wall is created and - since each canopy made of wire or other suitable materials is stable in itself - the mutual alignment in the row is exact and the result is a clean upper canopy end of the presentation wall. The information or advertising board is inserted into the two U-profile rails of each receiving part and other usual poster frame holders can be omitted. The insert frame at the front end of the roof section accommodates an information or advertising panel that provides clear end-user information with reference to information on the information board and to the articles hanging on the presentation wall under the canopy, which acts as a guidance system to guide the end-user to the right place during shopping, thus making shopping much easier and an experience.

Fluorescent tubes use background lighting to visually highlight the information or advertising panel. At the same time, the fluorescent tubes illuminate the information or advertising panel on the slanted part of the canopy and the goods on the presentation wall. The indirect lighting of the entire area on and under the canopy creates a pleasant atmosphere at the point of sale.

The two wire mesh side panels stabilize the angled canopy construction, which can be made entirely of wire mesh. The transparent side panels do not obstruct the oblique view of the information or advertising boards, even when a series of canopies are assembled.

The insert frame preferably consists of a U-shaped bent U-profile rail, which allows the information or advertising panel to be inserted from above. To stabilize the inserted panel and for reasons of symmetry, a fourth U-profile rail can be attached to the upper edge of the panel, so that the insert frame appears closed all around.

The wire mesh side panels have a ladder shape that is bent in the plane. This saves weight without compromising stability.

Each suspension element is preferably designed as a gusset plate with a straight rear edge that forms an acute angle with the plane of the receiving part and from which a hook protrudes vertically between its ends. To hang the canopy,

Both hooks are hooked into holes in the perforated wall columns. By supporting the vertical rear edge of the gusset plate on the perforated wall column, the canopy is held stable in such a way that its receiving part is inclined forwards from the vertical perforated wall plane at the top, creating the canopy effect when viewed from below. Each gusset plate can have holes for fastening pins. Screws can be used as fastening pins, which firmly connect the gusset plates of adjacent canopies to one another, so that the row of canopies is stabilized.

A rectangular receiving part 15 protruding forwards from the plane of the perforated wall 11 and a roof part 16 bent forwards horizontally from this consist of a flat wire mesh with quadratic fields 20. The roof part 16 ends at the front at a downwardly hanging insert frame 17, the plane of which runs approximately parallel to the plane of the receiving part 15. The roof part Ii and the insert frame 17 have the same width as the receiving part 15. The insert frame 17 is surrounded on three sides by a U-shaped bent U-profile rail, into which an information or advertising panel 19 of suitable dimensions can be inserted from above. The information or advertising panel 19 consists of a translucent plastic plate. To stabilize the panel 19 in the insert frame 17, a straight U-profile rail 21 is used, which is placed on its upper edge and which is approximately the same width as the closed base 18 of the insert frame 17 (Fig. 5).

Behind the insertion frame 17 of the canopy 10, a fluorescent tube 26 is suspended from the roof part 16 by means of hooks 25. For the sake of simplicity, this is shown in Fig. 2. It serves as background lighting for the information or advertising panel 19 and simultaneously illuminates an information or advertising board 24 and goods on the perforated wall 11, /advantageously, its length corresponds to the width of the canopy 10.

The receiving part 15 is limited at its upper edge by a U-profile rail 22 and at its lower edge by a U-profile rail 23, which run parallel to each other and whose openings face each other.

The two side edges of the receiving part 15 and the roof part 16 are provided with wire mesh side cheeks 27,28 which hang vertically downwards from the respective outer wire 30,31 of the receiving part 15 and the roof part 16. They form a ladder shape bent at an obtuse angle in a vertical plane with parallel longitudinal beams and transverse rungs 32. The upper front edge 27a, 28a of each side cheek 27, 28 is used for welding to the two shorter legs of the insert frame 17. The rear lower edge 27b, 28b of each side cheek 27, 28 abuts at the rear end with the outer wire 30, 31 of the receiving part 15 and forms a corner to which a flat gusset plate 35, 36 is welded, which is oriented vertically and parallel to the side cheeks 27, 28.

The gusset plates 35 and 36 are designed as approximately rectangular plates with a straight rear edge 40, which forms an acute angle with the plane of the receiving parts 15 and from which a hook 41 directed to the rear protrudes vertically.
