Resealable, cuboid-shaped film packaging for cellulose wipes

The present innovation concerns a resealable, cuboid-shaped film packaging for cellulose tissues, in particular for a stack of paper handkerchiefs, according to the preamble of claim 1.

Resealable film packaging of the type described above is known, for example from DE-OS 29 49 496.

When new, i.e. in their original packaging, such film packaging does not cause any difficulties in handling. Due to its full filling, such film packaging has a stable and taut shape in which no deformation occurs.

However, if the film packaging is opened and more and more cellulose tissues are gradually removed, the film packaging increasingly loses its stable shape, whereby the sealing flap, in its function of covering the removal opening, is impaired.

On the one hand, the closure flap is less rigid without the support of the cellulose tissues, so that the sides gape more or less along the separated perforation lines and soiling of the remaining cellulose tissues is encouraged. On the other hand, a long, narrow adhesive strip can releasably bond the closure flap to the front of the film packaging, but does not contribute to any significant stiffening of the closure flap, since it only covers a narrow separating area between the closure flap and the front wall of the film packaging.

The innovation is based on the task of developing a resealable film packaging, especially for paper tissues, in such a way that it can be handled safely and without problems even after repeated use. The material required for the adhesive strip should be as low as possible. A further task is to produce a film packaging of the type in question on high-speed, fully automated packaging machines.

This task is solved in a resealable, box-shaped film packaging according to the generic term of claim 1 by its characterizing features.

Preferred embodiments of the innovation are characterized by claims 2 to 4.

This self-adhesive rectangular surface is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the film packaging, without the surface of the adhesive strip including the grip tab having to be enlarged beyond the previously usual size, that the rectangular surface of the adhesive strip has a considerably greater degree of overlap of the separating area between the closure flap and the front wall of the film packaging and that, furthermore, this arrangement of the adhesive strip gives the closure flap greater rigidity. If the side ratios of the self-adhesive rectangular surface of the adhesive strip are maintained in the range of 3:1 to 1.5:1, the closure flap has a significantly improved closing behavior due to the greater degree of overlap in the width, especially when only a few cellulose tissues are left in the film packaging.

The circular segment-shaped form of the removal opening, which conveniently extends over the entire width of the front wall of the film packaging to make it easier to remove the packaged cellulose tissues, has proven to be the most suitable. Care must be taken to ensure that the circular arc-shaped perforation or weakening line does not have a circular arc that is too flat, which would result in a removal opening that is too small.

Extensive tests have shown that a degree of coverage of the perforation or weakening line by the rectangular area of the adhesive strip of more than 30 % and less than 50 % has proven to be effective, whereby the adhesive strip with

at least half of the rectangular area is fixed to the different flaps by means of adhesive. An adhesive strip that is too large would, apart from the larger

material requirements, in tearing behavior due to its;

relatively high detachment force that would be required J to separate the adhesive strip from the closure flap

unsatisfactory. For example, it would hardly be possible to open such a lock with one hand.

The adhesive bond connects the adhesive strip with grip tab to the closure flap so firmly that it tears open as intended when the adhesive strip is first pulled up in the area of the perforation or weakening lines. The adhesive strip fixed to the closure flap gives it considerable rigidity, which is even greater if the adhesive strip itself is made of a stiffer material than that of the film packaging. In a particularly tough design, the adhesive strip is made of a coated glossy paper.

The design of the non-adhesive grip tab, arranged on the long side of the adhesive strip, preferably has the shape of an obtuse triangle. In a further preferred design, the grip tab has an arched shape, so that the material requirement is reduced without any handling disadvantages. Coloring the adhesive strip in a signal color serves in a simple way to highlight the removal opening of the film packaging.

The object of innovation is explained in more detail below with the help of the drawings.

The film packaging (1) shown in Fig. 1 consists of plastic film, e.g. polyethylene, and wraps around a stack of 10 paper handkerchiefs (20), so that in the embodiment shown it has the shape of a narrow, horizontal cuboid. The FciicnvcrpuCkUii" ("i) has, as can be seen, £ni_apndp surfaces:

and a front wall (7).

A perforation line (8) is incorporated into the front wall (7) and runs in a circular arc, up to the corners (13) and (14) of the adjacent front wall (5). The circular arc line limits

the tearable closure flap ( ¹ M). The adhesive strip (10) is arranged with its long side (a) transverse to the opening direction (19) and is connected with its larger surface portion (16) to the closure flap (9) by means of adhesive. The adjoining peel-off part (17) of the adhesive strip (10) is detachably connected to the front wall (?) by means of adhesive. The adhesive strip (10), which is arranged centrally in relation to the width (B) of the front wall (7), covers an area of more than 30 % and less than 50 % of the perforation line (8).

The non-adhesive grip tab (11) in the form of an obtuse triangle arranged on the long side (a) enables the adhesive strip (10) to be grasped and pulled off in the opening direction (19). When the film packaging (1) is in its original sealed state, the peel-off part (17) of the adhesive strip (10) is first detached from the front wall (7). The ^closure strip (9) then detaches from the front wall (7) away from the perforation line (8), the surface part (16) remaining connected to the closure flap (9) due to the good bonding. By folding up the closure flap ( ¹¹ ) an opening is released from which the contents of the ^packaging can be removed. After removing a paper tissue, the closure flap (9) is folded back and closed using the adhesive strip (10).

As shown in Fig. 2, the adhesive strip blank (10 ^f ) has on the long side (a) of the self-adhesive rectangular surface (12) a non-adhesive triangular surface M5) as a gripping tab, the legs of which have a blunt

Form an angle. All corners of the adhesive strip cut-out (10') are rounded. In Fig. 3, the grip tab is limited by the arched shape (18) on the long side (a) of the adhesive strip cut-out (10'').

The adhesive strip cuts (10'; 10'') can be transparent with colored grip tabs, with different colored surfaces or in one color. In a preferred version they have a signal color.

The adhesive strip cuts (10', 10'') are made of coated glossy paper with a basis weight

of 87 g/m , which has a relatively high rigidity compared to the film of the film packaging (1). The rectangular areas (12) are preferably coated with a special removable adhesive, the adhesive force of which is adjusted so that, on the one hand, the adhesive strip (10) with grip tab (11) is sufficiently firmly connected to the closure flap, and, on the other hand, the peel-off part (17) can be easily detached from the front wall (7), and that, furthermore, secure closure is ensured even after frequent detachment of the peel-off area (17) from the front wall (7).

Claims (4)

Protection claims Resealable, cuboid-shaped film packaging for cellulose tissues, which is provided with a circular segment-shaped closure flap arranged on the front wall and can be resealed using adhesive strips, the closure flap being delimited by perforation or shaping lines, characterized by the following features: a) the adhesive strip (10) has the shape of a rectangle with an aspect ratio in the range of 3:1 to 1.5:1 and a non-adhesive grip tab (11) adjoining the long side (a), b) the adhesive strip (10) is glued to the closure flap (9) with at least half of the rectangular area (12), c) the adhesive strip (10) is arranged centrally in relation to the width (B) of the front wall (7) and is designed such that its rectangular surface (12) has an area of more than &Idigr; 30% and less than 50 % of the perforation or line of weakness (8) covered, d) the force strip (10) has such a high level of adhesion to the closure appendix (9) that it tears open in the area of the perforation or weakening line (8) when the force strip (10) is pulled up. 2. Resealable film packaging according to Claim 1, characterized in that the adhesive strip (10) is made of a glossy paper coated with adhesive and \i. a higher stiffness than the film of the f; film packaging (1). 3.
