Description
Process for the production of diffusion coatings. Patent addendum 880086 It is known that the mainly hard refractory carbides, z. B. tungsten carbide, molybdenum carbide, titanium carbide, - tantalum carbide, containing so-called sintered or molten cemented carbides have a high fatigue strength or heat resistance, especially at temperatures of over 800 ° C, that their resistance to scaling leaves something to be desired. The one with iron and steel alloys procedures and measures are used to increase the resistance to oxidation Experience has shown that, as a rule, they are not transferable to hard metals and have so far been no satisfactory protection against scaling brought about by hard metals. It has but surprisingly shown that the subject of the patent 88o o86 forming Process used in the manufacture of diffusion coatings, e.g. B. chrome coatings Metal objects, especially objects made of iron or steel, and that consists in that homogeneous, non-segregating pure chloride gases at negative pressures of less than Soo mm of mercury, in particular from 2o to Zoo mm of mercury, and at elevated temperatures, especially temperatures from 90o to 110o ° C, also the sintered or molten ones Hard metals when choosing a suitable coating, e.g. B. a chrome coating, provides excellent protection against scaling at high temperatures. It thus the application of the above-mentioned method to hard metals makes it possible given, blades of exhaust gas turbines, valve seats and similarly stressed parts of internal combustion engines or other objects made of hard metal and a high creep strength or high temperature strength with sufficient resistance to scaling connect to.
