The invention relates to a holding element for fastening wooden panels or wooden cassettes to ceilings or the like, which is either fastened to the ceiling itself or to a compensating wooden construction, whereby the visible joints resulting from the use of multiple holding elements, such as those between the individual panels, are covered by cover strips.

The fastening of wooden panels or wooden frames described here requires an absolutely dry, flat ceiling, which faces downwards, when mounted directly on the ceiling.

This is often not the case, so a compensating wooden construction attached to the ceiling is essential, as the wooden cladding itself is otherwise exposed to moisture. The space created between the actual ceiling and the cladding allows air to circulate, thus preventing moisture build-up.

The uniform retaining elements intended for fastening the wooden panels or wooden cassettes have the task of holding both the longitudinal and transverse wooden parts and securing them in their position.

The solution to this problem according to the invention provides that the rectangular holding element is a multifunctional element that has transverse and longitudinal holding tabs bent out of a single, uniform plate and furthermore has an edge formation on both sides as spacer tabs.
