Description

Process for the solidification of aqueous acid solutions It is already a process for the production of inorganic jellies with organic hydroxyl-containing Substances known by mixing low molecular weight silicic acid solutions with solutions containing hydroxyl Substances such as sucrose, glycerine, etc., are added and then polycondensation is carried out at room temperature or by heating.

In further experiments it was found that acids with polycondensing monosilicic acid are added to solidification (jelly resp.

Gelatinization), d. H. aqueous acid solutions, such as B. sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, lactic acid, various concentrations are bound by the polysilicic acid that is formed in such a way that a dimensionally stable and dimensionally stable Jelly develops. The monosilicic acid or the polysilicic acid formed can be used here z. B. from organic silicic acid tetraesters or from water glass (sodium silicate) getting produced. In addition to such solutions, one can add organic ones, in particular add hydroxyl-containing substances, e.g. B. glycerin. The polycondensation can take place at room temperature or by heating. Two examples are given for this: 1. 3.8 g of methyl orthosilicic acid ester are mixed with 36 cm3 of water so that the Monosilicic acid is formed. After adding 64 cm3 of 380% sulfuric acid and A jelly is immediately obtained by heating to 80 ".

2. 3.8 g of methyl orthoester are mixed with 36 cm3 of water and saponified and brought 64 cm3 of 800% lactic acid to it. When heated to 80 ° also occurs jelly formation immediately.

Such solidified acids are technically and economically manifold Meaning, e.g. B. in this way fillings in galvanic elements or Accumulators (for dry batteries) are made. Also for feed preservation in agriculture, which works with the addition of acid in green forage silos, are such Mixes well suitable, and more generally in those cases in which the transport of liquid acids, e.g. B. in the tropics and at great distances, Difficulties.
