Description

In Hochspannungsröhren, z. In high voltage tubes, e.g. B. to generate X-rays, or in high-voltage rectifiers must be carefully every trace of splintered matter be avoided as they give rise to undesired discharges (flashovers) can. For this reason one usually refrains from using gas traps, so-called Getters, from which the smallest particles can easily detach, should be introduced it is that they are used in the form of evaporation getters (barium, magnesium) or as an adsorption getter, such as zirconium. According to the invention, the application of a Getters, which are very desirable in themselves, are also made possible in high-voltage tubes, that the gas-absorbing substance is enclosed in a porous material through which the gases can penetrate, but no solid substance. So the shell should be completely impermeable to even the smallest crystals, but the molecular one or diffuse atomic gas, so that the getter present inside its gas-consuming Can have an effect.

The figures show exemplary embodiments in a partially schematic representation the invention. In Fig. I i is the porous metallic wall of a tube which firmly squeezed together at the ends. Inside it contains the getter substance 2 and is also provided with feeders 3 at both ends. The tube can be heated by a current, if the getter is particularly good when it is warm absorbent substance. According to FIG.: Z, a ceramic tube is more suitable as a wall Used porosity, which is closed at the ends by caps. i is turn the wall, 2 the getter filling, q. are closure caps, e.g. B. made of metal, the be applied tightly to the ceramic shell.
