The position of the webs 9 and 10 on the cross divider 2 and the grooves 8 and 7 in the rail 1 is designed to correspond to one another. In the embodiment according to Figure 1, the webs 9 and 10 and the grooves 8 and 7 are arranged at right angles to one another. The incision 5 is designed at least to such a length that it can accommodate the web 10 of the locking means 6 so far that it is flush with the adjacent areas 11 of the cross divider lower edge. In this position shown in Figure 2, the cross divider 2 is pushed onto the rail 1 from the rear until the web 9 of the locking means 3 rests in the groove 8, whereupon the locking means 6 arranged in the recess 5 in the partial area 12 of the cross divider 2 that spans the rail 1 is pushed with its web 10 into the groove 7. The resulting position of use of the sales shelf insert can be seen in Figure 3. It can also be seen from Figure 3 that the height of the web 10 is higher than the depth of the groove 7, so that the web protrudes beyond the side walls 13 of the groove 7 even when fully inserted into the groove 7 and into the recess.

enclose the side surfaces of the cross divider 2 with their legs, whereby the inner surfaces of their legs rest against the side surfaces of the cross divider 2. In their upper area, the legs of the locking means are beveled in a wedge shape on the surfaces facing away from the side surfaces of the cross divider 2. This wedge-shaped bevel on the locking means 3 prevents products presented in the sales shelf insert from getting caught on the locking means 3 when they are pushed forward.

The top of the rail 1 runs at an angle p£, which is preferably 5 to 10°, to the front side 14 EU of the rail. The bottom 16 of the cross divider 2 is bevelled at the same angle oC in the area of the recess 15, the side surface 17 of the groove 8 is bevelled and the locking means 3 is arranged at an angle on the cross divider 2. This makes it easier to slide the cross divider 2 onto the rail 1 from the back.

In order to achieve a good clamping effect on the web 10 of the locking means 6, the side surfaces of the groove 7 are conical. The grooves 7 and 8 are approx. 6 mm deep and the webs 9 and 10 protrude approx. U mm deep into the grooves 8 and 7 in the position of use. The length L of the webs 9 and 10 is 30 mm. The U-legs of the locking means 3 and 6 protrude beyond the webs 9 and 10 by a length of approx. 20 mm, which is sufficient for gripping and holding them stably. The notch 5 has a length of 10 mm and a width of 5 mm. If desired, the webs 9 and 10 can be made so narrow that the cross divider can be moved parallel to the front side 14 of the rail after being inserted into the rail 1.

Likewise, another groove 19 is milled into the underside of the rail 1, which serves to accommodate any shelf surface projections that may still be present on older sales shelves. Likewise, an information strip 20 is arranged on the underside of the rail 1, which is limited at the top by the rail 1 and at the bottom by an end strip 21. For the attachment, guidance and as a holder for information signs to be attached to the information strip 20, further grooves 22 and 23 parallel to the information rail 20 are milled directly after the groove for receiving the information strip 20 on the rail 1 and the end strip 21 in front of these grooves.

The cross divider 2 also has a substantially V-shaped cutout 24 in its upper and front area. The tip 25 of the cutout 2H is flush with the edge 26 of the cross divider 2 which laterally delimits the recess 15 and, in the position of use, is thus flush with the rear of the rail 1. In order to be able to adapt the cross divider to different shelf depths, it is provided with a predetermined breaking point 27 which is formed by shallow grooves milled into the surface of the cross divider 2 on both sides.

Figure 5 shows an alternative embodiment of the cross divider 2. The cross divider 28 shown here has a lower height than the cross divider 2 and is bevelled on its front edge 29. The predetermined breaking point 30, the incision 31, the recess 32 and the locking means 33 are identical to the analogous elements 27, 5, 15 and 3 of the cross divider 2. The cross divider 28 is used in the same way as the cross divider 2.

Figure 6 shows a further embodiment of the sales shelf insert. Here, the cross divider 34 has an incision 35 for guiding the movable locking means 36, which is formed as a continuation of the essentially V-shaped incision 37 at an angle to the lower edge 38 of the cross divider 34 in the area of the recess surrounding the rail 39. The incision 35 ends above the lower edge 38 of the cross divider 34. A groove 40 with the same inclination is milled into the rail 39, corresponding to the incision 35. The cross divider 34 and the rail 39 are assembled to form a sales shelf insert in the same way as the cross divider 2 and the rail 1, with the movable locking means 36 being inserted from above into the incision 35 until it clamps into the groove 40.

Further embodiments for the movable locking means can be seen in Figures 7 and 8. The locking means 41 and 42 are arranged in the area of the recesses surrounding the rails 43 and 44 so that they can pivot about an axis 45 and 46 on the cross dividers 47 and 48, which are shown in sections. In the position of use, the locking means 41 engages in a groove 50 that runs at an angle to the rear side 49 of the rail, and in the position of use, the locking means 42 engages behind a projection 52 formed on the rear side of the rail 44 with a nose or cam-shaped provision 51. The further locking means that is firmly fixed to the respective cross divider is not shown in more detail here.

Figures 9 to 12 show further embodiments of locking means fixed to a cross-divider, whereby the respective movable locking means are not shown. Of course, the described embodiment can be modified in ^many ways without departing from the basic idea of the invention _. For example, in addition to the longitudinal grooves running parallel to the front edge of the rail, further grooves can be formed at right angles to the rear side and/or the top side of the rail for the partial accommodation of a cross-divider. When using locking means 41, 12 arranged pivotably on a cross-divider, locking means fixed to the respective cross-divider can also be dispensed with. In order to reduce the friction of the locking means when engaging in the grooves of the rails and to be able to move the cross divider in the grooves parallel to the respective front edge of the rail, it can also be expedient to design the locking means as a plastic or metal part . In particular, in the case of the locking means 53, 54, 57 and 58, a design in plastic or metal can be useful in order to achieve an increased clamping effect in the grooves 55> 56 or on the elevations 59 and 60 by utilizing the elasticity of these materials.
