The innovation relates to a partition made of layered material, in particular sheet metal, for dividing up storage and/or deposit areas on the shelves of shelves and cupboards as well as in transport and/or storage containers, drawers or similar, in which the storage and/or deposit areas are provided with at least two rows of slots or other openings arranged at a distance from one another and parallel to one another, into which corner feet protruding beyond a longitudinal boundary edge of the partition body serving as a supporting edge can be inserted as locking and holding elements.

With the known partition walls of this type made of sheet metal, the BtecSi feet are formed as one piece on the actual partition wall body. This is achieved by cutting the sheet metal blanks on the longitudinal edge that has the protruding plug-in feet and serves as a supporting edge, with a corresponding loss of material, over the length required for the respective application*

Another problem with wall-mounted partition walls is that they are made of relatively thin sheets and therefore have to be folded twice in the area containing the plug-in feet in order to achieve a sufficiently high degree of dimensional stability. Apart from the fact that the additional folding makes production more complicated and the manufacturing effort is therefore considerable, it is obvious that the necessary doubling of material in the area of the plug-in feet results in a further increase in material requirements.

Partitions of the generic type are already known, which are provided with separately manufactured holders made of sheet metal in the form of flat, U-shaped strips in cross-section on their transverse boundary edges to form the plug-in feet. In order to secure the legs of the U-shaped strips that enclose the transverse boundary edges of the partition body, it was necessary to fix them in their position on the partition body by spot welding or pressing, in particular gill pressing.

According to the invention, this object is basically achieved by

that the plug-in feet are formed on plastic retaining strips which connect to the transverse boundary edges of the partition wall body with a contact edge,

and the plastic retaining strips have pins, mandrels or the like that protrude transversely from their contact edge, with which they can be locked into loop-shaped attachments and/or recesses of the partition wall body or secured by means of a clamp or press fit. These features make it possible to form the actual partition wall body from a simple rectangular sheet metal cut and then to press a plastic retaining strip onto its two transverse border edges using their pins, mandrels or the like.

A design that has proven particularly effective following the innovation is one in which the projections and/or shapes of the partition wall body are formed by sleeves rolled onto its longitudinal boundary edges in one piece, e.g. in a loop shape. These sleeves can have a circular arc-shaped boundary according to a further development in line with the innovation and can be arranged symmetrically to the plane of the partition wall body.

Apart from the fact that such sleeves can be easily molded to the longitudinal boundary edges of the partition body using a rolling tool, they have the considerable advantage that they contribute to a considerable shape stabilization of the partition transverse to its longitudinal direction.

It has also proven to be important if, according to the innovation, in the spacing area between the pins, mandrels or the like, tongues protrude beyond the contact edge of the plastic retaining strips, which alternately connect to the side surfaces of the plastic retaining strip facing away from one another, whereby these tongues each receive their support on the side surfaces of the separating element body facing away from one another.

According to another practical embodiment of the innovation, the pins, mandrels or the like of the plastic retaining strips are provided with an essentially cross-shaped cross-section, which is supplemented in some areas by ribs running in the circumferential direction to form a circular cross-section, with at least the free end of the pins, mandrels or the like having a tapering design.

These measures make it easier to create the plug connection between the plastic retaining strips and the partition wall body, but still ensure that the parts are held together securely.

To further stabilize the partition, the innovation proposes that the plastic retaining strip is provided with a stiffening bead on its longitudinal edge facing away from the contact edge and on the two transverse edges, the cross-sectional shape and dimensions of which are coordinated with the cross-sectional shape and dimensions of the sleeves on the partition body.

Through the interaction of these tongues with the partition wall body, the pins, mandrels or the like are relieved of transverse forces that act on the plastic retaining strips.

However, it has also proven to be useful in accordance with the innovation that ribs running parallel to the pins, spikes or the like are formed on the plastic retaining strips, which are located in the transverse edge area of the tongues and decrease in height and/or width from the stiffening bead towards the storage edge.

These ribs not only increase the stability of the plastic retaining strips and the connection between them and the partition wall body, but they also ensure a continuous guide surface transition between the partition wall body and the thicker stiffening bead on the plastic retaining strips. This makes it particularly easy to pull goods out of the areas of a storage and/or deposit area that are laterally delimited by the partition wall.

The innovation also provides that the length of the plug-in feet is greater than their width and that these plug-in feet have a ribbed contour on both sides.

However, the shelf 3 according to Fig. 1 does not necessarily have to be a part of a shelf 1. Rather, it can also be located in a cupboard or a similar lockable container*

In any case, it is essential that the shelf forms a storage and/or storage area 4 that can be used as a carrier for any goods.

The storage surface 4 can also be the bottom of transport and/or storage containers as well as drawers or the like.

In any case, it is important that the storage and/or deposit area 4 is provided with at least two rows of slots 5 or other openings arranged at a distance from one another and parallel to one another, as can be seen in Fig. 1. The individual slots 5 in each row can have predetermined distances from one another, for example have a uniform locking distance from one another.

Partition walls 6 can be assigned to the storage and/or deposit area 4, e.g. the shelf 3, in an interchangeable manner and at a variable distance. This is done in such a way that each partition wall 6 takes up a position that is aligned normally to the storage and/or deposit area 4, as can be clearly seen in Fig. 1.

Each partition wall 6 is formed by a partition wall body 7 and two plastic retaining strips δ, as can also be seen in Fig. 1.

Each plastic retaining strip 8 is assigned to a transverse boundary edge 9 of the partition wall body 7, in such a way that it rests with a contact edge 10 butt-jointly against the transverse boundary edge 9.

Both longitudinal boundary edges of the partition wall body 7 are provided with loop-like projections and/or protrusions, in particular with sleeves 12 rolled on in one piece over their entire length. These sleeves 12 expediently have a circular arc-shaped cross-section and are arranged symmetrically to the plane of the partition wall body 7, as can be clearly seen from both Fig. 1 and Fig. 4. The sleeves 12 form longitudinal stiffening profiles for the partition wall body 7, which can ensure its dimensional stability even with a relatively low material thickness of the sheet metal blank.

The plastic retaining strips 8 are preferably manufactured as injection-molded parts from break-proof and low-wear hard plastic, whereby it is particularly expedient that both plastic retaining strips 8 belonging to a partition wall 6 have a matching design.

The design of these plastic retaining strips 8 is shown in particular in Fig. 2 and 3 of the drawing. According to this, each plastic retaining strip 8 has two pins or mandrels 13 that protrude transversely from its contact edge 10, which can be inserted into the open ends of the sleeves 12 of the partition wall body 7 and then secured in them by a clamp or press fit and, if necessary, also by fastening.

Each pin or mandrel 13 expediently has a substantially cross-shaped cross-section (Fig. 3), which is supplemented in some areas by ribs 14 running in the circumferential direction to form a circular cross-section, which is then anchored in the sleeves 12 of the partition body 7 with a clamping or press fit and/or by locking when the contact edge 10 of the plastic retaining strip 8 rests flush against the transverse limiting edge 9 of the partition body 7.

The plastic retaining strip 8 is provided with a reinforcing bead 15a, 15b, 15c on its longitudinal edge facing away from the contact edge 10 and on two transverse edges running essentially at right angles thereto, the cross-sectional shape and dimensions of which are matched to the cross-sectional shape and dimensions of the sleeves 12 on the partition body 7. After the plastic retaining strips 8 have been connected to the partition body 7, the reinforcing beads 15b and 15c adjoin the sleeves 12 of the partition body 7 practically seamlessly, in such a way that, including the reinforcing beads 15a, the entire peripheral boundary of a partition 6 has a matching profile shape.

In order to ensure that the two pins 13 of each plastic retaining strip 8 can be easily inserted into the two sleeves 12 of a partition wall body 7, it is expedient to provide their free ends with a taper 16, as can be seen particularly clearly in Fig. 2.

In the space between the two pins or mandrels 13, several, for example three, tongues 17a, 17b, 17c are attached to the plastic retaining strips 8, which protrude beyond their contact edge 10.

in one piece, namely in such a way that they alternately connect to the opposite side surfaces of the plastic retaining strip 8. The two tongues 17a and 17b are supported on one side surface of the partition wall body 7 in connection with the transverse boundary edge 9, while the middle tongue 17c is supported on the other side surface of the partition wall body 7. The holding connection between the plastic retaining strips 8 and the partition wall body 7 in the direction transverse to the plane of the partition wall body 7 is significantly _stabilized by the tongues 17a to 17c, so that the pins or mandrels 13 are relieved in this direction.

Ribs 18a and 18b running parallel to the pins or spikes 13 are formed on each plastic retaining strip 8. These are located in the transverse edge area of the tongues 17a, 17b, 17c on the side surfaces facing away from each other. The ribs 18a extend from the area of the stiffening bead 15a to the contact edge 10, while the ribs 18b extend from the stiffening bead 15a to the free ends of the tongues ^17a , 17b and 17c. In this context, a design of the ribs 18a and 18b in which their height and/or width decreases away from the stiffening bead 15a in the direction of the contact edge 10 or towards the free end of the tongues 17a to 17c has proven to be useful. The wall section of the plastic retaining strips 8 having the contact edge 10 has a thickness which is matched to the layer thickness of the sheet metal blank forming the partition wall body 7.

A plug-in foot 19 is formed integrally on each plastic retaining strip 8, whereby this is connected, for example, to the stiffening bead 15c and extends essentially at right angles to it or to the pin or mandrel 13. The plug-in foot 19 has a cross-sectional dimension that is matched to the cross-sectional dimension of the slots 5 in the storage surface 4, such that the plug-in feet 19 can be inserted into the slots 5 of the storage and/or storage surface 4 in order to fix the position of a partition wall 6.

It is advisable to make the length of the plug-in feet 19 larger than their width. It has proven advantageous if the length:width ratio is 1.5:1.

Good stability of the support feet 19 is achieved if they are provided with a rib contour 20 formed on both sides, as can be seen in Figs. 2 and 3.

In the transition area between the plug-in foot 19 and the stiffening bead 15c, shoulders are expediently formed in such a way that they come to rest as support stops 21 next to the slots 5 on the storage and/or deposit surface 4.

Deviating from the embodiment according to Figs. 2 and 3, it is also possible to provide each plastic retaining strip 8 with a plug-in foot 19 at its upper end. Such a design is possible when it is necessary to simultaneously attach a partition wall 6 to two storage and/or storage areas 4 arranged at a distance from one another, for example on shelves or cupboard shelves 3.
