The invention relates to a pallet with a support surface, for example for piece goods to be transported, which rests on pallet feet.

Such pallets are known in many different forms* For example, wooden pallets have been around for years, with a wooden grid supported by wooden blocks as pallet feet. These pallet feet can be connected by additional slats, which then serve as runners.

There are also one-piece plastic pallets which are pressed into a corresponding shape, whereby the pallet feet are already formed out of the actual support surface during the molding process.

There are also pallets made of metal or other materials.

All of these pallets have different disadvantages. Firstly, they are relatively expensive to manufacture, but if they are manufactured more cheaply, their lifespan is insufficient. With almost all pallets, it must be assumed that if any part of the pallet is damaged, it will become completely unusable.

The inventor has set himself the goal of developing a pallet that is inexpensive to manufacture and consists of reusable individual parts. In particular, assembly should be made considerably easier.

This task is solved by inserting the pallet foot with a collar into a cutout in the support surface.

This means that the pallet foot and the support surface are manufactured separately and assembled in a further work step. This means that it is possible to use a different material for the support surface than for the pallet foot. For example, a cheap chipboard or plywood board is suitable for the support surface, while a plastic material can be used for the pallet foot. In this case, it is possible to spray the pallet foot inexpensively and, on the other hand, to produce the support surface by the meter. If the support surface is damaged, the pallet feet can still be used.

Preferably, the cutout will be circular and the collar will be cylindrical. However, triangular and polygonal cutouts or collar cross-sections are also conceivable. The invention is not intended to be limited to this.

The pallet foot has a base, whereby the collar

and the base are connected to each other via a pipe section. This pipe section should run at an angle of > 90° to the base so that the entire pallet base has a conical cross-section. This allows additional pallet bases to be accommodated so that transporting and storing empty pallets takes up little space.

Another key feature of the invention is the connection between the support surface and the pallet foot. This connection should be as quick as possible, durable, but also able to be released again. In a simple case, the collar has an outer diameter that is equal to or larger than the inner diameter of the corresponding cutout. When the collar is inserted into the cutout, this creates a clamping connection*. Of course, an adhesive layer can also lead to a more intensive connection between the pallet foot and the support surface.

In a slightly more expensive version, the pallet foot is inserted into the cutout. The support surface 1 is interspersed with circular cutouts 2, into which pallet feet 3 are inserted.

The support surface 1 can consist of a chipboard or plywood board. However, other materials, including plastic or metal, are also within the scope of the invention. The pallet base 3 can also be made of different materials. Here, si 2h primarily offers plastic. On the other hand, hard cardboard, for example, is also conceivable.

The pallet foot 3 preferably has a base 4. This base 4 closes a pipe section 5 that runs at an angle > 90° to the base 4. As a result, the pallet foot 3 is conical in cross-section, so that space can be saved, for example, when transporting or storing several pallets P, since the pallets P can be stacked. In this case, each pallet foot 3 engages in an interior space I of the underlying pallet foot 3.

A cylindrical collar 6 is formed on the pipe section 5, which is inserted into the circular cutout 2 in the position of use. The collar 6 has a ring flange 7, which abuts the underside 8 of the support surface 1. This ring flange 7 serves as a support for the support surface 1.

The connection between the support surface 1 and the pallet foot 3 can be made in various ways. In the simplest case, the collar 6 has an outer diameter d. which is equal to or larger than the inner diameter d ₀ of the circular cutout 2. When inserting the pallet foot 3, it will then be necessary for the collar 6 to be hammered or pressed into the circular cutout 2. In some cases, this holder alone is sufficient, in other cases, for example, the contact surface between the collar 6, flange 7 and the support surface 1 can be provided with an adhesive layer.

According to the embodiment of the connection between collar 6 or pallet foot 3 and support surface 1 or circular cutout 2 according to Fig. 3, it is provided that the collar 6 has a projection 10 of length a. After inserting the pallet foot 3 into the circular cutout 2, this projection 10, indicated by dashed lines, is flanged outwards using a suitable tool, with the projection 10 in particular being subjected to heat.

According to the example shown in Fig. 4, the collar 6 should be made of an elastic material. While a corner bead 11 is cut into the support surface 1 around the circular cutout 2, another, usually shorter flange 12 protrudes from the collar 6, which fits into the corner bead 11. When the pallet foot 3 is inserted into the circular cutout 2, the flange 12 or the collar 6 moves back due to its elasticity and clips into the corner bead 11 in the final position.

Towards the surface 13 of the support surface 1, the insert 16 covers the pallet foot 3 with an annular collar 19. In this case, not shown for the sake of clarity, the possibility is also opened up for the support surface 1 and the collar 6 of the pallet foot 3 to form a corner bead, similar to Fig. 4, in which the annular collar 19 then lies in the position of use, so that the surface of the support surface 1 is flat. With regard to the standing surface 4, it should also be added that this should preferably be stronger so that it is possible to clip in or, for example, nail on skid boards.
