Ferner ist seine chemische Beständigkeit außerordentlich groß. Es verpufft ohne Heftigkeit mit rußender Flamme. Beim Zusammenschuß einer größeren Anzahl von Zündern, wie dies im Bergbau erforderlich ist, treten bei Strommangel, der meist durch fehlerhafte Kontakte in den Zuleitungen verursacht wird, viel -,weniger leicht Versager ein. Hierdurch werden die Unfallmöglichkeiten im Bergbau weiter heruntergedrückt. Der Energieinhalt des Bleipikramats ist ausreichend und kann durch Beimischung von geeigneten Zusätzen sowohl erhöht als auch vermindert werden. Als' Zusätze kommen in Betracht: Feinverteilte Metalle und Legierungen, wie Aluminium, Magnesium, Zirkon, Silicium, Chrom, Wolfram, Titan, sowie Legierungen, Wie Ferrosilicium, Ferrotitän, Wolframkarbid, neben Sauerstoffträgern, wie Kaliumchlorat, Kaliumperchlorat, Bleisuperoxyd, ' 'Mennige, Bleichromat. Für Spaltzünder setzt man °geeignete Leitmittel, wie Silberpulver oder Graphit, zu.
