Hierbei dringt der Keil in jungfräuliches Material des anderen Metalls ein, so daß in diesem die Bildung einer Oxydhaut von vornherein ausgeschlossen wird. Um weiterhin eine Oxydation und vorzeitige Erweichung ödes gesäuberten Keiles während des Preßvorganges zu verhindern, ist letzterer rasch, am besten schlagartig einzuführen. Nach dem Eintreiben des Keiles wird dieser durch das andere Metall erwärmt, so daß je nach der Höhe der Temperatur des zum Erweichen gebrachten Metalls und der Art der Metallpaare eine Verschweißung durch Diffusion im festen Zustand oder durch Bildung einer flüssigen Zwischenschicht erfolgt.
