Die bisherigen Verschlüsse bei Blitzlichtkapseln bestehen meist aus einem dünnen Papier, das über die Öffnung. der Kapsel geklebt ist und das Ausschütten des Blitzlichtpulve=s verhindert. Dieser Verschluß hat einen erheblichen Nachteil, da das Blitzlichtpulv er eingeschlossen ist und bei der Entzündung die Papierhaut sprengen muß, wobei ein ziemlich scharfer Knall entsteht. Um diesen zu vermeiden, wurde bereits empfohlen, das Papier vor Gebrauch einzureißen. Es gibt auch Vorrichtungen, bei denen unter das Papier ein dünner Faden geklebt wird, mit dem man dann das Papier einreißen kann. Selbst das eingerissene Papier läßt aber immer noch ein ziemlich starkes Verpuffungsgeräusch übrig. Wird es dünner gewählt, so ist keine Pulverdichtigkeit mehr gewährleistet, wie überhaupt die Papierverschlüsse sehr leicht Transportschäden aufweisen, wobei etwas vom Kapselinhalt verstreut wird.
