Dabei wird zwar ein ungiftiges Futtermittel gewonnen, aber sein Eiweißgehalt ist nur noch gering und beträgt nur 12 bis 25% gegenüber einem Eiweißgehalt von etwa 35%, des unbehandelten Rückstandes. Es ist auch schon ein nicht zum Stande der Technik gehörendes Verfahren vorgeschlagen worden, gemäß dem der zu einem staubfeinen Pulver gemahlene Rizinusschrot durch mehrmaliges kurzes Kochen mit einem Überschuß von Wasser, Absaugen, Auswaschen und Trocknen behandelt wird.
