Das Verfahren besteht im wesentlichen in der Anwendung eines aus einer leicht schmelzbaren MetalUegirung hergestellten Kernes, dessen Form dem Hohlräume des herzustellenden Filterhohlkörpers entspricht, und auf welchen eine Schicht von leicht angefeuchteter Porzellanerde oder dergleichen aufgetragen wird, welche alsdann durch Matrizen unter hohem Druck fest an den Kern angeprefst wird, worauf, nachdem die Porzellanmasse vollständig ausgetrocknet ist, durch Erhitzen der leicht schmelzbare Kern geschmolzen und aus dem Hohlraum entfernt wird. Fig. 4 ist ein Verticalschnitt durch Fig. 3. Die mittlere Ausbauchung d des Kernes kommt mit der inneren Fläche der Matrize nicht in Berührung. Beim Ausschmelzen läfst der Kern am Umfang des Filterkörpers Oeffnungen zurück, die den Vorsprüngen c am Kern entsprechen und durch welche die geschmolzene Masse abläuft. Diese Löcher werden nachher durch irgend welche bekannte Mittel geschlossen.
