Description
- Netzmittel für starke Alkalilaugen Starke Alkaliläugen werden in der Textilindustrie zum Merceizsier en von Baumwolle oder zur alkalischen Behandlung von Mischgespinsten oder Mischgeweben aus 'natürlicher und regenerierter Cellulose verwendet. Zur Erhöhung der Netzfähigkeit dieser alkalischen Behandlungsbäder -werden heute größtenteils phenol- oder kresolhaltige Erzeugnisse benutzt, die wohl eine ausgezeichnete Netzwirkung, jedoch auch große Nachteile in anderer Richtung aufweisen. So belästigt der stark anhaftende Kresolgeruch die Arbeiter, die in derartigen Betrieben beschäftigt sind. Außerdem kommt das Kresol mit den Abwässern in die Bäche und Flüsse, die es auf weite Strecken hin verunreinigt..
- Es lag daher ein wirkliches Bedürfnis vor, kresolfreie \etzmittel für die in .der Textilindustrie -zu verwendenden starken Alkali-Iaugen zu schaffen, die in ihrer Netz- und Schrumpfwirkung den kresolhaltigen Erzeugnissen gleichkommen, , dagegen die Verbraucher nicht durch stark anhaftenden Geruch belästigen und in Abwasserschwierigkeiten bringen.
- Die bisher für diesen Zweck vorgeschlagenen Mittel, wie Glycerinmonoalkyläther oder Gemische aus Äthylalkohol oder Aceton und Butylalkohol, lösen sich nur sehr schwer in stark-en Alkalilaugen. Die erhaltenen Lösungen, die das Netzmittel nur in geringer Konzentration enthalten, besitzen mir geringes Netzvermögen.
- Es wurde nun gefunden, daß Gemische aus Oxalkylbenzylalkoho'.eti oder Xylylenglykolen und Alkoholen die Netz- "und Durchdringungsfähigkeit von starken Alkalifaugen so weit steigern wie die besten im Handel befind-
lichen Kresolerzeugnisse. Dabei sind sie, je nach Wahl des Alkohols, beinahe geruchlos und nicht störend in den Abwässern. Besonders bewährt haben sich beispie, weise Gemische aus etwa ,..". 9o Teilen O.#>ymethylbenzyIalkohol und i o Teilen Athylenglykolmonoäthyläther - '# Dampfdrucke aufweisen. Daher altern die Alkalillotten, die derartige Zusätze enthalten, weit weniger, ,als wenn sie mit Hilfe von Ethyl-, Propyl- oder ähnlichen Alkoholen her- stellt werden, obgleich ihre Netzfähigkeit i:'frischen Bädern etwa gleichwertig ist.
