Description
Method for applying an insulating, air space containing Wrapping of threads or tapes made according to the method of patent 653,250 Polystyrene on metallic conductors Addendum to Patent 653 2.50 The invention relates relates to a method for applying insulation containing air spaces Polystyrene threads or tapes or the like on metallic conductors.
According to the method according to Patent 653,250, it is possible to use tapes and making filaments of polystyrene so that they are pliable. It has However, it has been shown that the otherwise crystal-clear, flexible polystyrene strips and threads when wound up over small diameters are slightly clouded and a milky Preserved appearance, which suggests excessive stress on the structure. aside from that the resilience inherent in the polystyrene tapes and threads causes the thread to be wrapped does not sit firmly on the copper conductor, but strives to untwist and to jump off. This makes the capacitance ratios of the lines less favorable Way influenced. In order to avoid this, the flexible strips are used according to the invention and cords made of polystyrene heated to about 7o to 8o ° C before winding. this can either be done so that the threads or ribbons between the supply reel and the winder are passed through a heated pipe, or that for example in the manufacture of wrapped copper cores, including the entire wrapping device of the supply reel is placed in a heated container.
When the polystyrene tapes and threads have a temperature of 7o to 8o ' Have accepted C, let them lie around the body without resistance and stay there crystal clear. -You get this way an airspace vein, whose capacity is also at the purchase strong tensile and compressive loads remains largely constant.
