Abstract

A female electrical terminal comprising a flat metal body (10), obtained from blanked and stamped plate, that is connected at one end to pairs of foldable clamping flaps (12,13) for an electrical wire and is laterally provided with two longitudinal wings (14) that are folded so as to assume a substantially semitubular shape and form, together with said body (10), an electrical contact seat (16) for the flat strip of a male terminal. The female terminal is characterized in that the body (10) is longitudinally crossed by two slots (17) that form, between them, a flexible region that is provided with a stud (19) protruding towards the electrical contact seat (16). <IMAGE>

Claims

Electrical contact socket with soft coupling comprising a flat metal body (10, 102) made of pre-forged and stamped sheet metal, connected at one end to pairs of foldable terminal flaps (12, 13, 101) for an electrical cable and provided laterally with two longitudinal wings (14) folded so as to assume a substantially semi-tubular shape and, together with the body, form an electrical contact seat (16) for the strip of a plug, the body (10, 102) being crossed longitudinally by two slots (17) forming between them a flexible area (18) provided with a pin (19) projecting towards the electrical contact seat (16), the slots (17) being crescent-shaped, characterized in that the slots have a contour containing concavities facing each other, the pin having a substantially triangular longitudinal profile with a higher region on a side opposite the side where the plug is to be inserted, and in that the longitudinal wings of the body have transverse slots extending from the inside of the wings.

2. Socket according to claim 1, characterized in that the flexible region (18) has ends which are narrower than the central part.

3. Socket according to claim 1, characterized in that the wings (14) converge to the bottom of the body (10) with a rounded connection.

4. Socket according to claim 1, characterized in that the body (10) has a bevelled region, and that the longitudinal wings (14) have a conical front area to facilitate the insertion of the plug.

5. Socket according to claim 1, characterized in that the longitudinal wings (14) of the body have lateral pins (20) which project towards the electrical contact seat (16) and are suitable for reducing play with respect to the plug inserted in the contact socket.

6. A socket according to claim 1, characterized in that the pairs of foldable clamping flaps (12, 13) extend from a lug connected to the body (10) at the end opposite the coupling end, the lug being aligned with or perpendicular to the body.
