Abstract

An object-supporting device, such as a device for supporting a flat signboard, a photograph frame or the like intended to be used in an upstanding position while supported by the support device, the device being intended to take a generally flat first position, transport and storage position, conforming to the configuration of the object, and a second position, a supporting position, in which part of the device extends from the object to form a support part which is intended to lie against an underlying surface. The object-supporting device is characterized by at least one flexible and resilient, generally sheet-like support part (3) which includes an attachment part (4) which is intended to be attached to the object (1) to be supported, and at least one tongue-like part (5) having a free-end (6) which preferably faces towards the attachment part (4) in a first position, wherein the free-part of the support-part is intended to be bent outwards away from the object (1) to place the device in the object-supporting position, and wherein the tongue-like part (5) is intended to be bent inwardly so that its free-end (6) abuts the object and therewith holds the support-part (3) in its outwardly bent position.

In Fig. 1 bezeichnet das Bezugszeichen 1 einen Gegenstand wie z.B. ein ebenes Schild, das im dargestellten Fall nicht "selbststehend" ist, jedoch in aufrechter Lage verwendet werden soll (Fig. 3), während es von der Stützvorrichtung 2 abgestützt wird. Die dargestellte Stützvorrichtung besitzt mindestens ein flexibles und elastisches, allgemein blattförmiges Stützteil 3, das ein Befestigungsteil 4 umfaßt, welches an dem abzustützenden Gegenstand zu befestigen ist, sowie mindestens ein zungenförmiges Teil 5 mit einem freien Ende 6, das vorzugsweise dem Befestigungsteil 4 in der besagten ersten Lage zugewandt ist. Der freie Teil 3' des Stützteils dient dazu, von dem Gegenstand 1 weg nach außen gebogen zu werden. Das zungenförmige Teil 5 dient dazu, nach innen gebogen zu werden, so daß sein freies Ende 6 an dem Gegenstand anliegt und mit diesem das Stützteil in seiner auswärts gebogenen Position hält. Wie gezeigt, liegt das freie Ende 6 des zungenförmigen Teils 5 vorzugsweise an dem Gegenstand in einer Position an, die von der Befestigung 5' des zungenförmigen Teils des freien Teils des Stützteils, gesehen von dem Befestigungsteil aus, entfernt ist, so daß das zungenförmige Teil eine Strebe bildet, die an dem Gegenstand anliegt und die den freien Teil des Stützteils in seiner auswärts gebogenen Position hält.In Fig. 1, reference numeral 1 indicates an object such as a flat sign which, in the case shown, is not "free-standing" but is intended to be used in an upright position (Fig. 3) while being supported by the support device 2. Claims

1. An article support device, such as a device for supporting a flat sign, a photograph frame or the like, which is to be used in an upright position when supported by the support device, the device being able to assume a generally flat first position, namely a transport and storage position, corresponding to the shape of the article, and a second position, namely a support position, in which a part of the device extends away from the article to form a support part which serves to bear against an underlying surface, the device comprising at least one generally sheet-shaped support part comprising a fastening part which is fastenable to the article to be supported, and at least one tongue-like part with a free end, a free part of the support part being bendable outwards from the article (1) to bring the device into the article-supporting position, and the tongue-like part being bendable inwards so that its free end (6) bears against the object and thereby holds the support part (3) in its outwardly bent position, characterized in that the support part (3) with its tongue-like part/parts (5) is flexible and elastic and preferably made of thin plastic and that the free end (6) of the tongue-like part (5) in the object-supporting position is held pressed against the object in a position which is remote from the attachment (5') of the tongue-like part to the free part of the support part, as seen from the attachment part (4), as a result of the spring-like properties of the support part.

2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the device has two support parts (3) which are arranged on opposite sides of a central fastening part (4).
