Abstract

The packaging comprises a casing (1) having a general parallelepipidal form, at least one face (11) of which slopes towards the outside, and a lid (2) comprising a fold (21) at the level of the junction of its upper part (22) and of its frontal part (23), the said lid (2) being fastened to the casing (1) at the level of its edge (24, 25) which covers and envelopes the edge (14, 15) of the said casing (1). Fastening the lid (2) to the casing (1) can be achieved by heat sealing or adhesive bonding of the edge (24) of the upper part (22) of the lid (2) on the edge (14) of the casing (1), the frontal part (23) of the said lid (2) comprising at its front edge (25) a tamper-proof tongue (3) which is heat sealed or adhesively bonded on a tongue integral with the casing. It may also be achieved by means of catches (4) integral with the edges (24, 25) of the lid (2) and introduced in orifices provided in the edges (14, 15) of the casing (1). <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a resealable packaging, in particular for the sales presentation of objects of medium or small dimensions, in particular household goods, sold individually or in quantities; said packaging can also be used for the final sorting of such objects by the user.

There are currently various types of packaging on the market which satisfy certain criteria to a greater or lesser extent, depending on the wishes of the manufacturer, the retailer or the consumer. These requirements are numerous, namely those relating to production costs, ease of filling by hand or automatically, ease of handling and storage, aesthetics, rationalisation and optimisation of their footprint at the point of sale, possibility of reuse and integrity when offered for sale.

The packaging available today hardly meets these criteria.

The most common are plastic bags, which are easy to present but offer little appeal to the consumer as they are not reusable so the consumer has to put them away.

Other packaging is in the form of parallelepiped boxes made of transparent hard plastic with a lid; although such boxes have a satisfactory aesthetic appearance and offer the possibility of reuse, they are not easy to use because the lid can be removed, thus preventing any possibility of stacking. They have the disadvantage, among other things, of being quite fragile and bulky when empty because they cannot be nested.

Other packaging is made of semi-rigid plastic and is therefore less fragile. It opens in two parts and is generally closed with staples, but has the disadvantage of being difficult to open and not easily reused due to its closure system, which exposes it to damage the first time it is opened.

Another type of packaging - described in FR-A-1 570 711 - consists of a tray made of transparent plastic welded at its edges to a presentation cardboard over a part of its circumference, while the other part is attached to the cardboard only by a small-sized claw, the cardboard having a groove along the area to which the tray is welded, allowing it to be folded down in order to have permanent access to the tray.

This type of packaging has the advantage that, once opened, it provides a supply of the parts it contains, but the disadvantage is that it cannot be resealed, so that the contents spill out if it is accidentally turned inside out.

The present invention, as defined in claim 1, makes it possible to eliminate various disadvantages of existing packaging by proposing a new packaging that satisfies all the above-mentioned advantageous criteria.

The packaging according to the invention comprises two parts, a box, advantageously made of semi-rigid plastic of the polypropylene type, and a lid also made of semi-rigid plastic of the polypropylene type.

The box has the general shape of a parallelepiped with at least one side inclined outwards to provide an inclined front opening in addition to the top opening so that access to the interior of the package is possible both from the top and from the front inclined surface.

The lid can cover both the top and the front opening at the same time; for this purpose it has a fold that functions as a hinge at the junction of the two openings.

The lid can be attached to the box in several ways: either the upper part of the lid is immobile and only its front part can be moved frequently, or the entire lid, namely the upper and lower parts, can be moved frequently to facilitate access to the box, either for removing it or for filling it.

In any case, the first opening of the front part of the lid is preferably only possible after a very specific operation which destroys the system of inviolability and thus constitutes proof that the packaging has not been opened before sale.

The closure of the packaging according to the invention can thus be carried out at the level of the upper opening by heat-welding or gluing the lid to the edges of the box, in which case the front part of the lid has a rim on its periphery which envelops a flange of the front opening of the box, the end having an invulnerable tongue welded or glued to a tongue integral with the box, so that the release of the opening system can be carried out by cutting said tongue.

The closure of the lid can also be carried out by means of barbs which are integral with the edge of the lid and which can be inserted into openings provided in a flange on the periphery of the front or upper opening, so that the user has the choice of cutting said barbs to release the lid completely or only those which hold the front part of the lid.

With a view to arranging it in a rectilinear presentation, the packaging according to the invention can be provided with a system of hooks arranged on the edge of the box; said hook system can consist of a cut in the inviolability tongue.

Finally, the lid of the packaging according to the invention can comprise a device allowing an information label to be attached which is simultaneously visible on the upper and front surfaces of the lid.

Such a device may consist of a recess provided on the upper surface of the lid and designed in such a way that it constitutes a hollow deformation suitable for receiving the label and provided on either side with two semicircular pins projecting over the recess.

The device may be completed by two windows arranged in the surface of the recess and adjacent to the fold of the lid, allowing two legs extending from the label to be introduced into the interior of the box, the legs resting against the interior of the package against the front surface of the lid and forming a front label.

The advantages and characteristics of the present invention will become more apparent from the following description, which refers to the accompanying drawing, which in turn represents a non-limiting embodiment.

In Figure 1 it can be seen that the packaging according to the invention comprises a box 1 of generally parallelepiped shape, one surface 11 of which is inclined outwards so as to form, in addition to the upper opening 12, a front inclined opening 13.

Box 1 is closed by a lid 2 which can simultaneously cover the upper opening 12 and the front opening 13 and which, for this purpose, has a fold 21 in the region of the connection between its upper part 22 and its front part 23.

Lid 2 is attached to box 1 at its edge 24, 25 which covers and envelops the edge 14,15 of box 1.

In order to improve the safety of sale, the edge 24 of the upper part 22 can be welded to the edge 14 of the box 1, while its front part 23 can only be opened and closed by cutting a tongue 3 which is firmly connected to the edge 25 of said front part 23 and at the same time to a tongue which is integral with the box 1 (not visible in the figure).

Tongue 3 may have a recess 31 in a shape adapted to the attachment of the packaging to various presentation items.

Edge 25 of front part 23 can adapt to closing on edge 15 of box 1 according to the connection method illustrated in Figure 4a.

Figures 2 and 3 show various elements of the packaging shown in Figure 1, with the box 1 and the lid 2, equipped with a fastening and safety tongue thermofed to a tongue 32 firmly connected to the box 1.

Figure 4a shows a type of connection between the lid 2 and the box 1 in the area of the edges on both sides, more precisely in the area of the edges 15 and 25 of their front parts: edge 25 of the lid 2 envelops the edge 15 of the box 1, which in turn has a U-shaped cross-section.

In this case, the edges 14 and 24 of their upper parts can be heat-sealed in such a way as to prevent the packaging from being opened before it is sold.

From Figure 4b it can be seen that another type of connection consists of barbs 4 which firmly connect the edges of the box 1 and the lid 2 to one another: in this case both the upper edges 14, 24 and the front edges 15, 25 can be provided with such barbs, which can be severed by the user at will, either simply on the periphery of the front part 13, 23 of the packaging or on the entire periphery.

Figure 5 shows a method for hanging the packaging according to the invention on a sales rack by means of the tongue 3 which is arranged on a front part of the lid 2 and whose recess 31 allows sliding along two parallel rods 6.

From Figure 6 it can be seen that the lid 2 of the packaging according to the invention can have a recess 26 consisting of a hollow deformation of the lid 2, two pins 28 of semicircular shape serving to hold the label 29 which has two tabs 30 which can be inserted into two windows 27 which are in turn arranged on the front surface of the recess 26, while the label 29 slides into the recess 27 under the effect of a thrust force exerted in the direction of the arrow F.

The packaging according to the invention has numerous possibilities in terms of sales presentation as well as storage and lends itself easily to stacking due to the shape of its lid, as well as to different types of opening, which makes it particularly easy to use.

Claims (6)

1. Resealable packaging, in particular for the sales presentation of medium or small-sized objects, of the type comprising a box (1) and a lid (2), characterized in that the box (1) has the general shape of a parallelepiped, at least one side of which is inclined outwards to create a front inclined opening (13) in addition to the upper opening (12), that the lid (2) simultaneously covers the upper opening (12) and the front opening (13) and for this purpose has a fold (21) with a hinge function at the junction of its upper part (22) and its front part (23), and that this lid (2) is fixed to the box (1) at the level of its edge (24, 25) which covers and envelops the edge (14, 15) of this box (1). 2. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the fastening of the lid (2) to the box (1) is carried out by heat-sealing or gluing the edge (24) of the upper part (22) of the lid (2) to the edge (14) of the box (1), the front part (23) of this lid (2) having on its front edge (25) an invulnerable tongue (3) which is heat-sealed or glued to a tongue (32) integral with the box (1). 3. Packaging according to claim 2, characterized in that the invulnerable tongue (3) has a cutout (31) which is designed for placing the packaging on sales tables. 4. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the fastening of the lid (2) on the box (1) is realized by means of barbed pins (4) which are integral with the edges (24, 25) of the lid (2) and are inserted into openings provided on the edges (14, 15) of the box (1). 5. Packaging according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the lid (2) has on its surface (22) a seat (26) formed by a recessed deformation of the lid (2) for applying a label (29) held on both sides by two projections (28) arranged protrudingly on the seat (26). 6. Packaging according to claim 5, characterized in that the receptacle (26) has, on its surface adjacent to the fold (21) of the lid (2), two incisions (27) for the passage of two legs (30) extending from the label (29).
