Description
Method of Tinning Slide Bearings The invention has a method for tinning those provided with a layer of copper or a copper alloy Surface of plain bearings to the object. The purpose of tinning is the application a bearing metal, e.g. B. a so-called white metal or a low-tin storage layer, prepare.
So far, the surface was usually tinned in one Acid bath of adhering grease and other imperfections that could lead to adhesion of the Pewter-facing, cleaned.
According to the present invention, the copper surface is pretreated for the inclusion of the tin. in such a way that the bearing acts as a positive electrode (anode) ' switched to a decomposition cell and the copper surface thereby electrolytic is raised. The copper layer is, expediently, before the electrolytic one Treatment turned or drilled relatively smooth.
The electrolytic pickling of metals is generally known per se. It has also been used for degassing rolled iron sheets during manufacture applied by tinplate. The invention, however, is that with a such electrolytic pre-treatment of the copper surface of a plain bearing for the tin-plating, the load-bearing capacity and emergency running properties of the plain bearing are compared .one with a mechanically roughened surface is surprisingly increased. this The reason for this is that parts of the copper layer are caused by the electrolytic Vox treatment are torn out, whereby the surface coming into contact with the tin considerably enlarged and very good adhesion due to proper anchoring of tin in the copper surface is achieved. This forms in this separating layer an alloy of copper and tin that after wear or leakage The bearing metal applied to the tin plating has a particularly oiled emergency running property owns.
