Abstract

A packet of toweling for single use adapted to be dispensed for hand drying from an apparatus having a supply chamber from which the toweling is manually withdrawn for use and a storage roller operable in response to the withdrawal of toweling to roll up and store the used wet toweling, said packet comprising a zigzag folded, continuous web of paper material extending between first and second web ends, said paper material having a reinforcement comprising a fabric of synthetic threads for providing said web with a tensile strength sufficient to prevent tearing during withdrawal, use and rolling up, said web having an adhesive area on the exposed surface adjacent one of said ends of which an additional, similar packet may be joined to said packet, said adhesive area having a removable cover. According to the invention said reinforcement threads being disposed in a grid-like pattern with the threads extending in directions longitudinally (13) and transversely (14)of the paper web(2), said longitudinally extending threads (13) being more closely spaced than said transversely extending threads(14). In a prefered embodiment the removable paper cover of the adhesive area comprising a first surface portion(6) having a low adhesive coating in contact with the adhesive area(3) and an integral pull tab (8)extending beyond one vertical face of said packet and adapted to permit said paper cover(4) to be pulled out from between this packet(1) and a similar packet (1) disposed with the other of its said ends in contact therewith.

Description

Gemäss den Fig. 1 und 2 ist in einem bevorzugten Ausführungsbeispiel die obere Oberfläche des gefalteten Endes von jedem Paket 1 von handtuchartigen Produkten 2 in einem Ausgabebehälter 10, welcher einen Boden 11 von einem (nicht gezeigten) Dispenser hat, mit einer Schicht oder einem Streifen 3 eines geeigneten Klebemittels versehen. Der klebende Streifen 3 kann mittels eines Hot-Melt- Applikators (nicht gezeigt) oder einer anderen geeigneten Einrichtung aufgebracht werden. Eine T-förmige freie Papierabdeckung 4 wird auf den Klebestreifen 3 auf der obersten Faltung des Paketes 1 aufgebracht, um dort temporär festgelegt zu sein. Die Abdeckung ist auf sich selbst um eine Faltlinie 5 zurückgefaltet, so dass ein unterer erster Oberflächenbereich 6 oben auf liegt und in Kontakt mit dem Klebestreifen 3 ist. Ein oberer gefalteter Bereich 7 umfasst den Abziehstreifen 8, der sich nach aussen über die vertikale Stirnfläche des Paketes 1 hinaus erstreckt. Die Faltlinie 5 ist so angeordnet, um entlang der rückwärtigen Kante der Papierabdeckung 4 am weitesten entfernt von der vertikalen Frontseite des Paketes 1 zu liegen. Nachdem ein ähnliches Paket 1 (nicht gezeigt) in die Öffnung 9 des Ausgabebehälters 10 eingelegt ist, wird der Abziehstreifen 8 mit der Hand erfasst und langsam herausgezogen, so dass die Abdeckung 4 von dem Klebestreifen 3 auf der oberen Faltung des unteren Paketes 1 abgezogen wird, beginnend an der Faltlinie 5 an der rückwärtigen Kante und sich nach vorne hin fortsetzend. Der unbedeckte Klebestreifen 3 hängt dann direkt an der Bodenfaltung des ähnlichen Nachfüllpaketes 1, welches darüber liegt, wobei eine Verbindung für ein kontinuierliches Band des Produktes 2 erzielt wird. Die klebende Verbindung kann durch ein einfaches Pressen des oberen Paketes 1 nach unten gegen das untere verbessert werden. Die Unterseite des unteren ersten Oberflächenbereiches 6 der Abdeckung 4 wird bevorzugt mit einem Lösemittel beschichtet, um sein Abziehen von dem Klebestreifen 3 zu erleichtern. Bezugnehmend auf Fig. 3 umfasst ein bevorzugtes Ausführungsbeispiel der verstärkten Papierbahn ein Verstärkungsgitter 12 aus Kunststoffäden, wie bspw. Polyester, mit einem gitterartigen Aufbau, welcher aus sich in Längsrichtung erstreckenden Fäden 13 und sich quer dazu erstreckenden Fäden 14 besteht. Der gitterförmige Aufbau der Verstärkung gewährleistet eine Festigkeit in allen Richtungen in der Ebene der Bahn 2, um eine Dehnfestigkeit zu erzielen, welche ausreichend ist, um ein Reissen während dem manuellen Abziehen der Bahn von dem Dispenser zu vermeiden, während dem Gebrauch beim Trocknen der Hände und wenn nachfolgend auch eine Speicherrolle des Dispensers (nicht gezeigt) automatisch aufgerollt wird. Die Bahn 2 wird bevorzugt dadurch gebildet, dass das Kunststoffgitter 12 zwischen zwei Schichten 15 von bevorzugt Weisskraftseidenpapier angeordnet wird und beim Laminieren des Papiers 15 und des Verstärkungsgitter 12 den Walzenspalt von einem Paar von Heiz- und Pressrollen (nicht gezeigt) durchläuft. Das syntetische Verstärkungsgitter 12 ist mit einem räumlich engeren Muster der sich in Längsrichtung erstreckenden Fäden 13 und einem weniger oder geringer räumlich engem Muster der sich in Querrichtung erstreckenden Fäden 14 versehen. Auch können die sich in Längsrichtung erstreckenden Fäden 14 einen geringfügig grösseren Querschnitt aufweisen und deshalb im einzelnen stärker ausgebildet sein, als die Fäden 14. Z. B. kann das Gitter 12 ein Muster von drei sich in Längsrichtung erstreckenden Fäden pro Zentimeter der Gitterbreite und 0,8 Querfäden pro Zentimeter der Gitterlänge aufweisen. In einem bevorzugten Ausführungsbeispiel bestehen die Fäden 13 aus 0,0167 g/m (167 Detex) und die Fäden 14 aus 0,0140 g/m (140 Detex). Die sich daraus ergebende Zugfestigkeit der Gitterbahn 12 ist dann 4 · grösser in der Längsrichtung 3000 N/m (15daN/Scm) als in der Querrichtung 680 n/m (3,5daN/Scm) ist. Die Elastizität bis zum Bruch beträgt in Längsrichtung ungefähr 32% und in Querrichtung etwa 26%. For example, the grid 12 can have a pattern of three longitudinally extending threads per centimeter of the grid width and 0.8 transverse threads per centimeter of the grid length. Claims

1. A packet (1) of disposable towels (2) dispensed for drying hands from a device comprising a dispensing container (10) from which the towel (2) is manually withdrawn for use, and a storage roll capable of rolling up and storing the used wet towel (2) in view of withdrawal of the towel (2), the packet (1) comprising a zigzag-folded continuous web (2) of paper material extending between a first and a second web end, the paper material (2) having a reinforcement comprising a grid of plastic threads for providing the web with a tensile strength sufficient to prevent tearing during withdrawal, use and rolling up, the web having an adhesive area (3) on the free surface near one of the ends by which an additional, similar packet (1) can be connected to the aforementioned packet (1), the adhesive area comprising a removable paper cover (4), characterized in that characterized in that the reinforcing threads are arranged in a grid-like pattern with threads extending in the longitudinal direction (13) and in the transverse direction (14) of the paper web (2), the longitudinally extending threads being arranged closer to each other than the transversely extending threads, and the removable paper cover of the adhesive area has a first surface area (6) which has a lower adhesive coating in contact with the adhesive area (3) and a release strip (8), which is an integral part of an upper folded region (7) and which extends beyond a vertical front side of the packet when the packet of towels (2) is inserted into the dispensing container (10) of the device, and which is adapted to allow the paper cover (4) to be pulled out from the space between the packet (1) and a similar packet (1) in contact with the other of its end therewith, the paper cover (4) being folded back on itself about a fold line (5) so that the first surface region (6) of the paper cover (4) rests on substantially the entire adhesive region (3).
