Description

High-frequency cable The subject of the invention is a high-frequency cable which, in a known manner, consists of a tubular outer conductor and an inner conductor that is insulated therein. According to the invention, loose glass wool, quartz wool or a similar elastic insulating material is selected to isolate the inner conductor from the outer conductor. The use of glass or quartz wool is particularly recommended if both the inner conductor and the outer conductor are designed to be flexible, since this makes the high-frequency cable as a whole flexible and easy to wind up like a normal cable. Compared to known cables in which a current conductor in the interior of a tube shell is performed as a chain of beads made of insulating material, the insulation has fabrikatorische and electrical benefits of glass or quartz wool. In the manufacture of such a cable, the insulation material can be continuously plugged into the space between the outer and inner conductors in one manufacturing process, without the need for preparatory operations by manufacturing and stringing the beads. Electrically, there is the great advantage that the dielectric losses are particularly low, since only the smallest part of the volume of the insulation material consists of solid material, which by far, however, is filled with air. As an inner conductor can. appropriately stranded wire can be used as an outer conductor z. B. wire mesh or metal foil, which can be pressed with a lead jacket, or copper pipe, if the cable does not need to be flexible.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying figure shown where .1 represents the inner conductor, A the outer conductor and G the glass or quartz wool.
