This leno harness has the disadvantage that it makes the subject unclean by the looping thread if he is heavily burdened or is taut, does not go up, or even that the basic thread gets stuck on the eye and is pulled along with it. The chair in which we use the new leno harness is a ribbon loom with a jacquard machine. One recognizes that here the shed must be formed as high as the stroke of the strands a and b goes, because the double wire strand efg alternates as if riding or hooked with the point of the angle formed by its legs e and f in the eyes c and d sits, a complete pulling over of the wire legs is therefore not possible if the loop thread is about too tight; wear of the wire strand as a result of such an effect is therefore also excluded and two of the main deficiencies of the previously described leno harness are thus eliminated.

A disadvantage can also be associated with this device, that is, the lifting of the base thread by catching it on the double wire strand between the eye g and the eyes c or d , as FIG. 14 indicates.
